I've lived in the burbs all my life until recently, so I need a suggestion..

Where's a good place to eat for taking a girl on a second date???

Preferably Italian or American food. Probably nothing too fancy, but acceptable for a second get together. Somewhere between Lincoln Park and Wrigleyview would be good.

Mia Francesca's is a great Italian place on Clark in Wrigleyville.

Cool. Is parking fairly easy there?

There is valet parking...along with lots up and down clark, but I think I'd just use the valet.

It's a great place. My husband and I used to love it. :)
  • I went to Angelina's recently (spelling on that one??) Its Italian. Its on Broadway near Addison. Parking is okay.. you will probably be able to find a meter. It was really good.. A little pricey, but not horrible! Very cute and date-ish..

Will write that one down too. You guys are awesome! This board is a great resource. :D

By pricey, would it be like I'm trying too hard to impress? Whats a typical meal cost?

Um, I went with a girlfriend, so I paid for myself, but I got a dish, and a glass of wine, and it was like 20, plus tip for my own meal..

So not bad, but not like the cheapest..

Good luck on the second date ;)

Thanks! She seems like a really cool girl so far. We're still in that uncomfortable stage. Phone conversations can be good or go awkward. Pauses in conversations on the phone with people you don't really know can last an eternity. Expecially when she calls and I say hello and there's silence like she doesn't know what to say. What does that mean? She's either nervous or somebody has a gun to her head making her call me. lol.

hahaha.. my husband is still awkward on the phone.. some people are just poor phone conversationalists. At least she is cool in person.. haha.. thats a start.

Well that makes me feel better, because so far, we both seem to be poor conversationalists. I hope that doesn't ruin anything, because when we do have things to talk about we have a blast.
  • Oh, and another one.. this is in Wicker Park.. but there is parking on Division, if you wish to travel a little from Lincoln Park

Crust - Its a certified organic place. Everything is organic. Its got all flat bread pizzas that are unique and different. Its one of my favorite places in the city.

http://www.crustchicago.com/ Check out their website.. and if you don't go there on a date.. you MUST go some time.. The food is just great!

Hmmm...I'm thinking. We always went to bars! :D

This web site was like my bible when we first moved to Chicago. The user reviews give a lot of good info. Maybe you can find something interesting on there? http://www.centerstage.net/

Well here's another thought.. would taking her out for dinner on the second date be a bit much? Would it be reasonable to met casually at another pub or a more casual diner for a drink and appetizer???

I ask so many questions because the relationships I've had in the past have always been people I worked or went to school with.. the comfortable zone was already established long before I went on those first dates.

I'm not exactly the internet dating expert. :o

I would ask her what she would be comfortable with... dinner... or more casual drinks and a bloomin onion?

Good idea!.. The plan was for Tuesday, but I don't get off work until 6, so it would be getting late for dinner.. and its only the second meeting.. I really dig this girl,..

Somebody shoot me in the knee cap already so I have something else to worry about. She needs to dump me before I loose my mind. Thank god this board is confidential. :p
