Amen.. It's amazing how people do not get so emotional about this day as time moves on.. As a kid it was an amazing big deal. Not so much anymore.

my grandpa was in the army (my dad's dad) and had fought on several islands in the south pacific.

Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Mariana Islands, Guam, and what ever island
is referred to as "Christmas tree Island".
I am sure he was on other islands than the ones I know of.

we have many pictures of him when he was over there.
one is a tattoo i wear nicely on my chest

Wow thank you! I woke up knowing December 7 was an important day but it was lost just on the tip of my mind. Thanks for the reminder. My grandpa was in the Navy, years later, but still.

My Grandfather was at Pearl Harbor during the bombings. Luckily he survived.
