As I get older I'm really enjoying PBS television. They always seem to have a classic concert playing each nite or some very interesting documentary. I don't watch much television anymore. But when I do I check what PBS is showing first. lol

Any onther PBS fans? :)

Big PBS fan here! Yes, they have some awesome documentaries. I just got done watching Ken Burn's "The War" which was superb! On Saturday nights, I love to tune-in to Austin City Limits. That's the best thing on there and it doesn't matter which act is performing -- it's great entertainment. I also like Frontline. If you're a fan of PBS, please donate from time to time when they're having their fund drives. You'll be glad that you did!
    Rock on!

I live in Canada but on my satelite I have the Boston PBS station. I also watched Ken Burns "The War", I have a degree in WW II history and I was addicted to PBS every time it was on, I even went and bought it. Yes we are getting older, but also our tastes are becoming more refined I guess.

  • They had a great special on the Blue Man Group a while back. they also have that guy who can make your grass green by pouring Diet Coke and Listerine on it. Fascinating to watch, but way too much work
  • I like PBS. I don't watch it much since I moved here but I love the English comedies and they do great documentaries.

    yea for PBS

I recently donated by purchasing the Rolling Stones Flying Circus package.

A great deal for me and a good donation for PBS.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

    I sure do. :D
They were in Milwaukee maybe 2 summers ago. We went but didn't get on t.v. We had drawings from the 30's of downtown Milwaukee. Found out they were worth a few hundred dollars. That made my mom really happy. Her father got them when he owned his bar. Somebody paided their tab with them. lol

PBS is great! They have some great shows...like The Rolling Stones’ Rock & Roll Circus from 1968 that had a bunch of great people contributing - The Who, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, etc. Was a very cool show!

They have great kids programs, NOVA, etc. too.

Whenever they have a item that dates back to the 1700 to 1800's and its somehow Native American related. It's always worth big money. I remember they had a older man that had a Native American blanket. It turned out it was worth over $300,000. They guy broke down in tears cause he had no idea it was worth that much and that rare.

Also whenever the Kino Brothers are showing some peice of furniture you know it's big money.

Ok I'm showing that I'm a real dork for roadshow. But I love it. :D lol

The best antique roadshow ever...This woman had a huge dated (1700's) Chippendale armoire....it was incredible. She had it refinished and the appraiser looked like he got shot, or stabbed explaining it because if the piece had it had it's original patina in tact would be worth over $250,000, but by refinishing it, it's value was reduced to a mere $10,000...

She didn't look too happy either... kinda like old yeller just died...

    hehe....Oh man...
