Had to take my Gizmo in for a check up cause of a small lump on his back. It's nothing to be worried about. Some dogs get these as they get older. It's about the size of a pinhead. Well Gizmo is kinda sensitive with people touching his back legs and lower back. It's only a problem when its a new person he hasn't met. I got him when he was 6 or 7 months old and think he was abused. He has to warm up to new people and then he's fine. Well this vet really didn't try to take his time and well Gizmo was trying to bite him a little. After 10 mins he says to me you have a aggressive dog. I looked at him and said well he's only like this with new people. He replied back saying well you should do something about it. I then said I think were done here thank you. He wasn't my usual vet so that was the major problem I think.

But really does this look like a aggressive dog?

I think you are the guy from Denver I tried to hook up with for a beer awhile back. No, Gizmo looks cute and sweet, just don't feed that bad boy after midnight. Anyway....are you in Denver, which vet (I have 3 dogs) and would you like to have a beer? No funny stuff, just beer.

I'm actually back in Milwaukee due to some health issues with my dad. I will get back to Denver. I do miss it so much.

Take Gizmo to a different vet. I took my Copper boy to one vet who was lucky I didn't punched his lights out. He's was completely inappropriate with my dog.

Copper isn't a big fan of vets, but the right ones know how to work with him.

It's been my experience that small dogs tend to be way more aggressive than big dogs. Of course that's just me. Gizmo seems like a killer, though! :p

You're on the right track there Pat. Nothing wrong with the dog and everything wrong with the Vet.

You've seen Lukin? Well he don't like the Vet but thankfully our Vet is a really cool guy that understands it's not personal and everything to do with the things he does. He's even snapped at him a few times, bit him once too and the Vet just takes it in his stride. Last time we were there I said perhaps we should put a muzzle on him for the injection because he's liable to protest and that's how dogs tell you they don't like something. So that's what we do now. A nice soft, fabric muzzle for his injection and then the Vet gives him liver treats and a big cuddle when we're done. So Lukin thinks he might be ok sometimes. :D

Gizmo is a beautiful dog and nothing aggressive about him, he's just trying to say what he doesn't like or that he's hurt. Any Vet worth their salt would know that and not being running about willy nilly with stupid labels.
    NOPE!!!

Tell your vet you are doing something about it, you're going to go back to your other vet, that will completely fix your aggressive dog problem!

I'm not a fan of the place to begin with. My last vet retired and ever since then have just felt its just a business for these people. Which it is but I just dont feel they care in the right way. I just get a bad vibe everytime I go there. There is maybe one nice vet that works there but she is never around when I bring Gizmo in. I'm looking around and asking friends where they go. Right b4 I left for NYC I spent almost $300 on shots and check up and stuff. It was alot of money but he's worth every penny. :)

The lump sounds like one of those fat deposits that dogs get.
