    Beautiful pics guys

im gonna wait a few more months before I jump into another dog

miss my Matty, he was special
you’ll do what’s right for you….but I’ve always been an advocate of getting another dog….a puppy will distract you and also make your appreciate your old, “trained” dog even more.

I am sorry for your loss. Zeus was beautiful. Was he a Rottweiler? I loved your progression of photos. It looks like he was a well loved member of your family. How is your other dog doing?

Thank you.  Yes, he was a Rottie.  He started out as my parents dog, but when they downsized he came to live with us on the coast in 2018. Max is doing well so far.  She’s been a bit sucky, but that’s not unusual for her.

    Damn, damn, damn. :bawling:

Zeus was awesome. So aptly named. He made me remember Surfer - the guy who started this here thread.

Piper’s mama passed away this week, too. Her name was Ivy and she produced many naughty puppies.

    RIP Zeus.

RIP Ivy, you were a very good girl.

It’s been a week now, so many emotions.  Max has been very clingy, more so than usual 😂

Man what beautiful dogs do sorry for your loss! I’m not sure I can take loosing my Twinkie she’s 14 I’m not even sure I’d want another Dog for a while, having two surely helps in the comfort of a loss we lost Sparkle’s back in 15 but we had Twinkie and she really helped us emotionally.

Are those French Bulldogs? I always get ‘em confused with Boston Terriers. Frenchies are now the #1 most popular breed in the US, ending the Labs’ run of 31 years. $5k?

    A wagonload of Frenchys
They are always expensive due to how hard it is for them to give birth.

Thanks Rob, I know it does, he will always be in my heart along with all of my other fur-iends.  Ivy was beautiful.  Such a happy looking dog.

Thanks as well to @Enkidu and @josevolution

Your kind words and thoughts are much appreciated. I get what you’re saying Jose, having Max has been very helpful emotionally.

We were discussing getting another dog, preferably a younger dog, as Max is getting on in age as well. However, she had a hard time adjusting to Zeus when he came to live with us.  Granted, it was a different situation then, husband posted overseas for a year, so a new dog and losing her alpha had her very out of sorts.  Not sure how she would react now.  She’s older has some mobility issues, so would it be helpful or not?  Not really sure what to do, I just know that when she goes I will be devastated. Hopefully we have quite a few years left together.
