^^^Hmmm, makes me wonder if Piper and Winnie are actually two separate dogs or if Piper is just undercover and pretending to be Winnie.  I'm afraid that only photographic evidence will be adequate proof to show that we are not being duped by a clever dog ;)

    two dogs!

Keep my pooch in your prayers. Came home to her limping pretty seriously Wednesday. Front left leg. Took to the vet where they ruled out lyme disease. Vet noticed her femur bone was really sensitive so the concern was a bone tumor. Xray wasn't really clear (because of a huge fatty tumor that exists at the base of her leg that muddled up the view) but she didn't see anything. Sent them to radiology and will hear back in a couple days. She still seems concerned that they will find something she couldn't quite see so I'm pretty nervous....

She's had this large fatty tumor for a couple of years now and it's gotten really big. So the other concern is that it got big enough where it pinched a nerve or something. It's in a weird spot and too large to be removed. So even if this isn't a bone tumor, I'm afraid there's not a whole lot we can do other than give her anti inflammatory medicine.

We're keeping her on the first floor. Not major steps. She's not crying or anything. She actually seems totally fine except for the limping. Like she still climbs up on the couch to lay down and doesn't seem to have problems counter surfing. Her demeanor seems normal. It's just the walking that gives her a hard time.

Juggler, I'm so sorry.  You're doing what you can, and unlike cats who tend to pretend all is fine when they feel like shit, dogs are pretty much heart-on-their-sleeve types.  The counter-surfing is a good sign too.

Good thoughts to her and you.

You wouldn't want Eddie. He "borrows" things and I'm pretty sure he listens to Creed and Nickelback when I'm not around.
I'm pretty good with fur babies, I'm sure those glaring issues can be quickly rectified.

After and during her ride in the Jeep with the top and doors off. She seemed to love it.

*Yes, I did have her clipped in strategically so she could walk around but not jump out.

The occasion may call for a special birthday cap =)

Earlier I watched last night's episode of Pit Bulls & Parolees.  Five minutes in, already in full-blown tears at a puppy who was given one foot of leash, and just deserted with no food or water.  Upon rescue, her emaciated self was wagging her tail and giving kisses.

The capacity of dogs to forgive, and trust, and love...even after being treated like shit by the scummiest of humans...will never fail to amaze and humble me.

Please kiss your girls for me, Wob.
