had an 5.8 earth quake last night @ 12:30a.m.

all is okay around here, but after the shaking stopped, Sophie went outside and pooped. Guess it scared the shit out of her!

I don't know if I ever saw a smiling Sophie picture before.  She's gorgeous (she's gorgeous when she's not smiling too, of course.)  

We took Winston to his first fireworks show and were a little afraid of how he'd react.  You can see both dogs are petrified of fireworks.

People on the street behind us have been shooting off fireworks every night this week--still going on tonight.  Not just firecrackers but rockets that practically make a sonic boom.  Doesn't seem to faze Scout although he occasionally growls if there's a really loud one.
