i know what you mean about those first days with the new puppy....although norm was 8 months old when i got him, he was a very independent dog so it was difficult to wrangle him....i loved those early days but i don't want to go through them any time soon
Meanwhile, it's day 5 of my "hostage crisis" Gracie may look mellow in all the pics I've posted but she's running me ragged. She was absolutely on springs this morning, pouncing and barking at her toys. She's tearing around the back yard (when she's supposed to be pottying) and still trying to eat rocks. Man, I'm too old for this!
And here's a little mental picture for you.... I'm walking barefoot thru the house and I step in a turd....my first thought - WTF?.... Gracie is there to investigate, so I scoop her up and hop on one foot (the non-shitty one) to the kitchen. I put Gracie on the counter and then get my foot in the sink. I get the foot cleaned up and then go back for the turd. OMG, I need a break!!!
Your dog is adorable, although if I went near her I would sneeze my head off. I had to get a non allergic little guy. And Gracie is such a cool name. Good luck.

Dogs hate mouthwash (like Scope)...when our Remy was a puppy (it was her ninth birthday yesterday!) and she ate poop, as a last resort, I stuffed a paper towel soaked in scope in her mouth and then held her muzzle shut for about 30 seconds...it may sound mean, but it worked - and she wasn't harmed. She just runs away when she sees paper towel, though!
I would really, really welcome that, right about now!

So for my 30,000th.....I say THANK YOU to all of you that have provided me with ALOT of kindness and laughs and friendship. I am punch drunk from a week of watching Gracie. I'm dreaming of sleeping in and/or a nap! My chances don't look good. I actually feel asleep on the floor yesterday - Gracie wandered off but there was no damage done or any surprises on the floor. :eek: Whew!!

Gracie went on her first play date today with an 11 week old Goldendoodle (frou-frou). Thankfully, she's worn out. Tomorrow, she gets all day in her dog run. She will be pissed, but she'll survive - it has all the comforts of home

I hadd the best day! I went with gotz_id & yeild2pearljam and an asian to the DOGGIE BEACH!!!!! They both have beagles and they hadd a BLAST!!! I needed this day. I took a couple pics on my phone so i'll try to post them in a few! AHHHHHHH!!!!! i LOVE DOGGIES!!!!!!!
