What do you think?

What do you think "hard times" will do to popular music?

Well, it's debatable of course when the economy started to tank. Remember, the market is not the best indicator of economic health. But it is safe to say that the Bush years were horrific for popular music.

I guess I'm thinking that there is bound to be a revolution in music...Much like Grunge slammed the door on 80's hair metal. I think a new genre will pop up and slam the door on the "Bling Bling era".

  • It usually does help popular music, imo. The late 80's-early 90's recession is a fine example. Drug use goes up....people start listening to better music :p

Man I think its time for some real punk bands to come back. We need people bashing the system like that right now.

This country has been fucked up for the past several years yet the music gets worse. So much for that theory.

    Less touring. :(

kevinbeetle: "Yes. When her career washes up and her and Gavin move to Galveston, you will meet her at Hot Topic shopping for a Japanese cheerleader outfit.
