  • Who wants to be knocked up for the holidays (like i am)?
    No drinking, smoking, coffee.....
No rare meat, sushi, bleu cheese....and all sorts of other stuff they tell you to avoid!!
You could be puking all day, every day for MONTHS with "morning sickness" (it's not just mornings) like some people i know.....massive migraine headaches, your body is sore, and all you'd wanna do is SLEEP all day.

oh, and you would grow out of your bras instantly, get new ones, then again, then again...... none of your clothes will fit either.
and you wouldn't have the energy to go shopping either.

Trust me. The holidays are no time to be pregnant.

Humm.. that's a downer. And, just what I'm looking for! No sushi for 9 months would be damn near impossible.

I don't drink or smoke already though, so that's an easy one..

guess we'll know if its all applicable in a month or so

If you all think you're ready, go for it. They'll change your life forever. I couldn't imagine my life without my son. And we've got another due in February. God help us. I kid, I kid. Kids are the best.

try living in australia where they pay you $5000 just to have a baby - every single girl of breeding age is clucky here - it helps pay for the new plasma screens

look, my boys are 14 and 12. every now & then i think, gee it'd be nice to have a little girl ... so i go pick up my friends 2yr old daughter for a few hours ... that cures things straight away :D

actually, my mom mentioned the word "baby" to me and my wife like 29 times in the last two days. that nearly made us never to want kids.

    homely feeling...
    please help..!

I think you meant "homey"...not "homeLy"!

    Homely:
    1. lacking in physical attractiveness; not beautiful; unattractive: a homely child.
    2. not having elegance, refinement, or cultivation.
    3. proper or suited to the home or to ordinary domestic life; plain; unpretentious: homely food.
    4. commonly seen or known.

  • Well, its kinda like this:

With my program at school, I can only manage to have a baby if it were to happen next summer, which would put us at August from now. Other then that, I can't miss out on school, because I would have to leave my cohort program. So, if not now, then we are going to start trying in September 2010.. which is like a good forever from now. I wish I could try next fall, but then my insurance will end the summer after that.

why is life so complicated. 2010 is so long away.

you're overthinking it. you are young, don't worry about timetables.
seeing this thread i was thinking...didn't she just start grad school? why in the world would she want a baby now? :p if you are 'under a pile of homework'...the last thing you need is to be under a pile of diapers too. and don't you want to start teaching before you start a family? get into a school district, get health insurance, etc. just makes sense. seems like you are putting undue pressure on yourself. i think you are 'overcomplicating' your life by putting these additional demands on yourself. give yourself time. :)

btw 2010 is soooo NOT a 'long ways away' at all. it's almost 2009, time flies!
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...
