So I got a notice in my mail yesterday that I was able to apply for a Cohort program at my school that was new this year.

In this program, I would work intensely with 5 selected Elementary schools in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago throughout my course work. I'd also have all of my observations pre-arranged with these schools, and would have to observe every thursday. While the program is a lot more intense, the schools are awesome schools, and if I complete the program successfully, I am automatically given a student teaching spot at one of these schools, leading to a much higher chance of being hired afterwards at one of them.

So, if I get accepted to this program, then I am working with the schools that I totally am dying to get into! Of course its not a given for sure that I would be able to teach there when I am done, but the director said that the positions would be given to people who completed this program because they worked so closely with the schools all of that time.

so I'm rambling.. but anyways, I rushed my program application in this morning and cross your fingers for me!!

This could totally put me in such an awesome position!

    Good luck with that! A very close friend of mine is in a similar program in CA. She'll be finished up in April and will be able to apply for a full time spot. She's getting very excited and feels this will pay off greatly.

    So again, good luck to you, although I'm sure you don't need it. Keep us updated! :)

    GOOD LUCK!!! I was able to student teach in the district that I really wanted to work in and I was hired right afterwards.

    Thank again everyone.. the waiting is the hardest part. My boss was totally fine with the potential schedule shake up. Which was awesome, because I like my job but I'm not, not going to try for the best program possible in school because of it. It's so nice that she is so flexible. I really hope what they said about finding out by the end of the week, because I go away on Saturday for almost a week, and I'd be dying to know the whole time while I was away.
