My new painting...

Okay so I am an artist (term used lightly haha) and I draw and paint. Normally I only do abstract paintings, and realistic pencil work, but mainly of architecture. My mother in law requested that I paint a picture of her dog..

Okay so normally, I would never paint a picture of a dog. I struggle with animals, and humans so much, that I really have ruled them out. But she asked for it for her birthday and she is so into dogs, that I made myself try. I actually am surprised how it came out. It looks like the Lion from The Wizard of Oz.. hahaha.. but thats sorta what he looks like!

Here is it:

haha, you sound like my sister. One time a coworker of hers asked her to paint a portrait of this coworker's father-in-law. She doesn't really like to do work like that but does it well. So she did, and it looked great and the coworker was pleased, but had one more request: she asked if my sister would draw a thought bubble above his head with a picture of a tractor inside of it, because the father-in-law really liked tractors and was always thinking about them. lol! :D Luckily, my sister was able to convince her that a tractor thought bubble wouldn't fit in the picture...lol!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Oh my god, that made my day! My mother in law asked for me to do this picture in 2.5 feet by 3 feet.. I was like.. OH HELL NO!!! I'm not doing some big poster sized dog! Its only 9in by 12in.. I has asked her for a picture for reference just because I haven't seen them in a long time, and I wanted to get the coloring right, and I kid you not.. she sent me 35 pictures.. 35!!!!! and none of them helped.. they were like 500 feet away, or the dog eating, looking down, ripping apart a stuffed animal.. I was like, oh god.. here we go!
