Okay so I had my lasik surgery last night and I can see!! Its amazing to wake up and be able to see like I had my contacts in.

It does feel like I have egg shells in my eyes.. they are super sore and hurt like a mofo, but being able to see is just the best thing ever.

Glad it worked out well. I'm gonna have this done as well when I come home in June to visit.
  • I'm happy to hear the procedure went well and you can clearly see! Rest as much as you can and your eyes will feel better soon. :)

I went to the eye doc last night for my annual visit, I realized while I was in there that you were prolly having your lasik done at the same time. Then I frowned because I'll never be able to have that done.
I did get contacts tho........I've been visually impaired since about oh.....25 years ago. I stopped wearing contacts about 8 years ago because I just couldn't take it anymore. Went with glasses all the time.........Today is the first time I've worn contacts this long (going on 6 hours now) in about 8 years. So far so good.......except I keep putting my hands on my face to push my glasses back up my nose, and the glasses aren't there........duh!

Hahaha.. I always get so nervous when they are going to puff me with air.. Luckily they didn't do that at the lasik test.. they said they had other ways to test.

I went back to the doctor today for my follow up, and I am seeing 20/25 less then 24 hours after the surgery. They were very pleased and said it will get better. They also said everything looked great.

I'm still pretty sore, but I was able to drive today for the first time ever without contacts or glasses! Its such an odd feeling...!

congratulations...that must be nice. My vision so bad, I have been thinking about getting it but I'm kind of scared it might get botched up and I will be worse off...:p. But I think Im going to look into it one day.

Aww.. I hear ya with the phantom glasses. I used to push nothing up all the time when I would put in my contacts after a while.. and I'd feel like a moron when I poked myself instead.

I'd also catch myself giving dirty looks and rolling my eyes with my glasses on right to people's face because I'd forget they weren't my sunglasses.. haha!

Thats awesome! glad to hear it worked! Sorry to hear they are sore. My left eye ached a little for a few hours after the surgery, but that was it. Your eyes will be a little dry for a few weeks. Keep using the eye drops!

I think its different for different people. The only side effects I has was my eyes felt a little dry, like If I had my contacts in all day.
