Okay, I know, this is the third time I have posted about a Tyra Banks show, and excuse me for using these topics, but..

there is a woman on the show from the UK that breast fed her children until around 7 years old.

I cannot imagine this. They showed a clip of the littler girls and she was like, "I rather have breast milk then a million melons"..

I'm sorry but thats REALLY creepy to me. At 7 years old I was in second grade.

I know in most third world countries that it is normal to breast feed until one is aboot 5-7. They say it is healthier for the baby all around.

Yeah, I've heard about that. (Or at least another woman in the UK that was BFing a child that was, in most people's opinion, way too old.)

I'm all for breastfeeding, and I'm even for extending it to around 2 years like the WHO recommends, but beyond that there is really no reason. Furthermore, 7 is just plain TOO old. I could go on, but I won't. Unless I change my mind. :D lol
  • Point 1 - "I'd rather have breast milk than a million melons." That seven year old just made some excellent innuendo. :p

    Point 2 - Everytime I hear about older kids still breastfeeding, I picture a young Quagmire. :D Giggity-giggity-goo! :D

I only say I hate it, so I will still have friends in the world..

    ;)
  • Thing is, to me, it's like bordering on incest. No seriously, it's weird. Obviously the mother would disagree but... blech.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

The mother kept telling the audience that it was a very "pleasurable" sensation that she got, physically. And then I felt ill.

She then said that she was still nursing her younger child when her older daughter turned 9 and for her birthday the only think she asked for was one more nursing. WTF.

She also said that the children (these are both girls) get really upset when she gets dressed because she puts on a bra, and they feel that she is restricting the breasts and they should be free. She also said that when she she is getting dressed the girls talk to her breasts and stuff..

Okay seriously, how the hell can anyone think thats normal? I know there is SO much information out there saying its great for a baby and such. I don't disagree, but at 7? I mean WTF, they sell milk at the store for a reason. Gag me.

I don't think that's normal but in the pleasure aspect, it obviously isn't meant in a sexual way. There's just something not quite right about it. I can't put my finger on it...

At age seven, I was wondering about men and womens private parts, the last thing I would have wanted was for my mum to stick her boob in my face.
I realise that sounds completely shallow but... but... no, it's just not right!!!! :D

I apologise, I can't think of any reason as to why it should be wrong... it just seems to be.

I am not sure what I find more disturbing... breastfeeding at seven or that GS watches Tyra Banks  :p

I have seen that video floating around youtube... could be what abook posted the link to. Anyway while I do think breastfeeding is great for BABIES and perhaps toddlers I just don't see it being emotionally healthy for kids that are actually school age. Well in any case those kids seemed a bit out there... not liking it when their mum puts on a bra???

Tyra Banks is up there w/ Oprah and Rachel Ray as the most annoying people on TV while the sun is out.

But for some reason I'm craving a Vanilla Milkshake today. :p
