Do you believe it exists? I don't know if I do, but would like to think it does.

I basically think we all create our own karma. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

    ^^

I kind of lean towards that too.

well I have seen crappy things happen to crappy people. I also see a lot of bad things happen to good people. Sometimes I think it's random.

It probably is random. A lucky person is someone that can always think positive. They're the winners in life.

    Anyways, bump!

    Yes, of course it does.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I work with this women that had cancer, she beat it and it came back, she had a partial mastectomy. She has a son who has a brain injury and needs life long care. She also had a hysterectomy. But she is amazing. She has such a positive attitude.

I personally believe in something very like Karma. It's called The Threefold Law of Return, and it states in part "What you put into the world through force of intention will return to you threefold."

But you can't say... something bad happened to somebody so they deserve it. You have to look at the bigger picture. What you put into the WORLD will come back to you threefold.

For example. It's hard for me to talk about this because its sad and it makes me cry, but back in March a friend of mine's daughter was shot and killed in an episode of gang violence in Boston. It made national news, and people reacted! Her death was tragic! This beautiful young girl did not deserve it. Her family did not deserve it! She was all about peace! She put peace out into her world, and guess what... The area of Boston where she was killed is getting cleaned up! People are taking action! The people involved in her murder are going to prison making the streets much safer. And that area of Boston is becoming more and more peaceful every day. Of course that is little consolation to her family. But there it is. That is what I believe at work in the world.

I see it every day in my own life as well.

aww...Im so sorry about that....It doesn't make sense sometimes...what happens in this world.

I do know what you are talking about and I think that may be true although I'm not too sure. But you are right you can't just wish bad on someone...although at the time of being angered it's easy to do. But that is just as wrong as the person do the wrong-doing.

    Thanks for sharing that.

oh...and no need to worry about spelling. I'm not one of the spelling/grammar Nazis...:p

If she really does have a genuine positive attitude then she's probably quite a lucky person - if you see what I mean? :o

I think it's your perspective on life. If you're happy, then no one else can take that away from you. That's probably all we need in life. It's something that cannot be taken away!

I'm not sure about Karma. I'm just thinking about someone I knew at school.
Like you said, it's probably random.

Thank you for the kind words. We are still dealing with it, and its hard. Sometimes we talk about Chiara like she's still here. Its so hard to believe that she's gone.

And on the spelling issue. It's always bothered me that I'm not a good speller, especially considering I'm trying to be a writer. lol So I'm pretty much my own spelling Nazi. It doesn't bother me when others don't spell things right, but it always bothers me when I don't. If I catch it I always try to fix it.

I like message boards that don't let you know when a poster has edited a post. Then I can correct myself and anybody who reads it afterwards will just think I'm perfect! ;)

Karma is much like the Wheel of Fortune in the Tarot set. Life is in constant motion, cycles. You should always look at the lessons to be learned while at the same time trying to balance the changes, good and bad, that life presents. From death comes rebirth, from change new opportunities arise. Look beyond circumstances to see the causes, then you can understand karma a little better. There's also the threefold presents itself. Good happens to bad, and bad happens to good, for we are not perfect humans. #X.

    Yes, karma.
    Emit positive energy
    Recieve positive energy

Always do the right thing, it comes back around.
And well, life is just not very easy.
And not at all easy to understand.

Bad things will always happen, we have to learn from em.

I hate to agree with you, but i think you are right, and i hope you are wrong.
Cause frankly the list of ungrateful people who have treated me badly for no reason increased.........:(

Yeah, i'm one of those people who doesn't ( only sometimes ) forgive and certainly doesn't forget, so i wish for karma to get some people and hit them where it hurts.

I like to think we make our own karma...

So in a sense we bring everything on ourselves, whether it be good or bad?

if, so i strongly disagree. i was at the pub this weekend talking to this guy who said he doesn't like people with name Anna, because his girlfriend was Anna and she cheated on him and run off with another woman's boyfriend....so was it his fault it happend to him?

But yeah...that's just my opinion or my perception how things are...I have no idea if I'm right or wrong. But I do hope I am wrong.

    Nope, I don't believe it.

I think it's easy to believe it, if you forget about children who die soon after they are born or any of other various incidents where karma seems to be absent.

Hitler for example, killed what 6 million jews, in exchange for his life. Hardly seems fair.

If you kick someone in the leg and they punch you in the face, is that karma or reciprocal aggression?

Likewise, reciprocal altruism can explain good incidents of karma, so-called, while providing an explanation as to why it's absent in other cases.

I was hurrying to the beans aisle in my local supermarket the other day, and some fat fucker pushed me flying out of the way, and bought the entire store's worth. I cried.

On the way out of the doors, that man's legs fell off and he spontaneously combusted. Nobody wanted to claim all the beans tins, so I made a makeshift crate out of his charred ribcage and carried the lot home. Not needing the rib bones myself (as a devout Buddhist this week), I gave them to some starving local dogs, and later cooked myself some lovely beans for dinner. How could I not believe in karma?

doesn't it feel good inside yourself to help someone/animal/a life
to put out some quality energy into the universe

or to do a good thing, like pick up some a-holes litter they threw on a beach
where you are walking enjoying the day-your day-everyones day

to me, good karma is about forgiveness and not hating

we are all connected, as in, all life is woven together
