I work at a nonprofit as an admin assistant. A part of my job is answering, screening and routing calls to the staff. Well anyway I get this sales call today, I knew it was unsolicted. There is music blasting in the background and I couldn't hear them when they said the name of the company they were calling from. So he gets all snotty and repeats the name with an attitude. So I asked him why he was calling. So he said I don't understand these questions....
it's called
DOING MY JOB!
I friggin hung up on him, I can't believe I did that but I didn't feel like dealing with him.
Sorry...this is a stupid thread..I was just venting.

These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

Something about it didn't see on the level. The guy sounded so unprofessional...music was blasting. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -

No, they aren't. I would never ever hang up on a client though. Believe me they can be rude and abusive but it's understandable because of what they are going through. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -

whoa...I do feel bad because it's their job but having an attitude isn't going to help. I was kind of thinking this person would do that...These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -
I have to unfortunately do cold calling for my job. I generally try to be polite and profesional no matter what.
I try not to get mad at people if they hang up on me but if i'm not "profesionally persistant" i would lose my job for not trying hard enough. I've can't tell you how many times i've heard no, but i've been persistant and it has turned into a yes and business for my company.
I think you just have to be polite about it though. It did not sound like the guy who called you was profesional or polite.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

Oh yeah, I definitely understand it's people's jobs and I can handle persistance if it's done in a polite way, I know that's part of the job. He was just a weirdo. I really beleive it wasn't on the level. These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -

Sorry...this is a stupid thread..I was just venting.some people are just so rude... I would have just said 'what?' 'sorry what? Hello?' 'nah, I can't hear anything' and then hung up
same if somebody has me on speaker phone. It's just rude.

I think it was his tone really. I have had people be aggressive but still in a polite way..if that makes sense. But he just had this shitty attitude...These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.0 -
Sometimes I'll turn it around on a telemarketer...after he/she goes thru their schpeil, I'll say "I'll consider it if you'll buy a magazine subscription for my son's fund raiser." That usually throws them off guard, and it's kinda funny!
My sister-in-law hates telemarketers...when they ask if she is available, she'll say "I'm sorry, but (her name) just passed away, please don't call here again."~we were but stones...your life made us stars~0
