Does anyone get treatments? Any practitioners on here? I actually found out about it at my work. We had a conference where we offered a workshop about it.
Here's information about for anyone who doesn't know what it is.

These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

my mom studied/studies this type of thing.
she's into all sorts of uniquely different type stuff.

Is she a practioner? I think it's really interesting and there seems to be proof it's effective. But I could understand why it would never be popular in the U.S. I ordered a book on Amazon to read more about it.
Yeah a lot of people are skeptical about it's efficacy. I think you need to have a open mind. But I heard of someone who was on dialysis going for a treatments and they didn't need the dialysis. Makes you think there is something to it.
Yeah, you’re right, as with most everything spiritual you have to have an open mind. I also think it the persons open mind that helps heal them.
Is this something you’re thinking of practicing?
I am actually thinking about it. I heard it's easy to learn and if it helps people that's awesome. It's cheesy but I bought one of those "dummy" books to get started.
well, good luck.
Thanks.
That is awesome. I believe it works. Someone did it on me for a little while and I swear I felt something.
Yeah his mom did it for me a few times. I swear I've never been that relaxed...however I stood up and my knee and ankle still hurt like hell. But I was definitely relaxed and my back never felt so loose.
Maybe you needed more sessions for you knee and ankle.
That's a good possibility.
It was also messed up pretty bad for two years that I continued to play on it as well...so it was also in my head and not going anywhere. So that could all just be me as well.
ah, I see.
You got to spend it all
I think most people would consider me a sceptic about many things and I admit to being highly sceptical about reiki initially.
I have had two different practitioners and several reiki sessions in the past and there were noticable differences between the practitioners.
Initially I used to see my psychologist for reiki. I think I had maybe 3 or 4 sessions with her? It's a while ago so I don't recall exactly how many sessions but I do remember feeling incredibly relaxed and a general feeling of well being for quite an extended period of time after, weeks and months. Also I feel that those sessions most definitely helped me mentally, opened a part of my brain or something, (difficult to explain ) that then allowed me to be more embracing of relaxation, meditation and generally soothed me emotionally and significantly improved my overall well being.
I most definitely spent a great deal of time after the fact coming to terms with what had happened. I have no idea how she did it and I don't fully understand my reaction to it, but after much internal dialogue I certainly believe that whatever it is or however it works, I have found it very beneficial.
The second practitioner and most recent is a personal friend and in 2002 we were doing a theatre production together. I arrived at rehearsal with what I know now to be an extremely bad case of L'hermerrette's (sp?). I couldn't turn my head, felt the most excrutiating pain if I tried, like whiplash X1000. It was awful. My friend took me to the foyer area of the theatre and I lay face down on the floor and she performed reiki over my head, neck and shoulders. It was very relaxing. I recall her "flicking away" bad energy and that she had a physical reaction to the energy which at the time I put down to a few things that were happening in my life. Anyway, I felt somewhat better once she was done, but still stiff and in pain. That night I went home and slept after rehearsal and I can remember waking up the next day and feeling like a million bucks!! And for days afterwards I felt this amazing feeling, I felt the best I've ever felt, no pain, ANYWHERE, and a supremely calm and bouyant feeling. I remember commenting that it was the best I'd felt in a very long time. Some months afterwards I discovered I had a chronic medical condition and I truly believe that at that time, my friend was able to stave off a full blown episode. I know that the scientific minded folk probably wouldn't agree, and normally I wouldn't either, but nobody has come up with another theory that makes as much sense to me and I truly do not believe it was random. In recent years my friend has opened a day retreat, and with the way this year has been going I have been thinking about going along. I have actually considered seeing her because I believe she will be able to help me gain equilibrium and a feeling of well being that has been sorely lacking due to toxic influences in my world of recent months.
So yeah, if that's what you want to do, I say go for it! Of course you know I'll probably make jokes about it but I really think it's an amazing thing and a great way to heal.
*~You're IT Bert!~*
Hold on to the thread
The currents will shift
Thanks for posting that Jeanie. That's very interesting. Yeah Im just learning. Part of me is still skeptical but when I learned about that person not needing dialysis when they started sessions, well I figured there is something to it. I think there are some resources in the book I bought. So I will see how it goes.
yeah i heard of cranial sacral therapy but don't know much about it. But wow, that is something. From all I heard so far, it really seems like it works.
I would love to be a reiki master myself one day and study it. I didn't think you could learn it from a book though - I thought you needed a reiki master to "tune" you in or something at a class?

My sister made courses about this. For me was great cause she gave me a lot of free treatment for improve her knowledge. It´s very popular here. I liked very much.
Oh yeah, you definitely need to go and learn from a reiki master. The book is just an overview and it has resources.
Where do you live? Im in NJ and this I just heard about it. I don't think it's popular at all here.
I remember seeing in a book ways to put your hands on your face to relax and soothe yourself. Funny thing is I usually sit like that to feel relaxed.
I believe touch is a very powerful tool.
I went to psychical therapist who did kinetics (something like that). Also had to do with magnetism (...right word? When they use their hands for energy without touching you).
I had real problems with my knees, but no real help from the doctor other therapist. After the first session, I felt so happy and relaxed. It was indeed like all my worries meant nothing. I felt like I should feel. So free...wow!
But after a few days it wore off, and reality kicked in hard for me. I saw her for two years though and it really helped me relax and seeing things in a different perspective. Also my knee-problem...still sometimes it comes up, but she helped me reckognize why it comes up. And the moment I realize it and relax the muscles, it is gone.
I believe a lot diseases come from mental stress.
And lastly, I would like to do a course like that, but it is quite expensive.
Goodluck, and once you have it mastered send some reiki over this message pit for all of us to enjoy
I live in São Paulo, Brazil. A lot of my friends has a session of Reiki, as common than acupunture. SP has a biggest japanese colony in the world.
I found a lot of links of associations, courses, for post to you. But nothing of them has translator service, sorry.
huh..that is interesting.
Thank you for the thought though
