Taking Side in an Argument

I really try not to do that when Im caught in the middle of friends arguing..unless one person is really in the wrong. But usually I stay neutral. I wouldn't want to alienate the other person. I've had people tell me that to me but then it seems they are taking sides and now Im wondering if I seem like bullshit when I say it...because truthfully sometimes I do pick a side even if I don't tell the other person...

sheesh...I hope that was clear! :D

it was. i understand that you're a woman and if someone is not with you, they are against you. that is why you feel that people who want to stay neutral are taking sides against you. because you know that you take sides and cut them up behind their back like a good woman should. so you expect they will do the same.

hmmm..that's a bit of a generalization. For the most part I do really try to stay neutral...it really all depends on my relationship with both parties and what the issue is. I think I do it on more of a subconscious level sometimes.lol..but I never cut people up...bad mouth them...because you know when the 2 people make up it's gonna get back to them. If that happens.

    lol..well i wasn't saying it was rude..were you trying to be? :p

But yeah anyway Im getting weird vibes from someone who is supposedly neutral..I wish they would just say fuck you you are bitch(im not btw)..the fakeness is too much.

speak your mind. you don't have to be a douche about it but if they're your real friends, they'll respect your honesty more than you trying not to hurt their feelings by remaining as Switzerland.
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

well yeah it depends if it's something just between them and I don't know all the particulars I will def. stay neutral but if I was around whenever it went down then I will definitely have some kind of opinion or thought on what happened. Im kind of on the other side where I had something with someone and I have someone i know claiming to be neutral when all signs show they clearly aren't it's kind of insulting for certain reasons.

    Thanks for the advice.

Stay out of it and when you're finally sick of hearing all the blah, blah, blah, hand them both a knife and kick them into a pit. Tell them, you'll be back with a rope in one hour and that you expect one of them to be dead or both of them to have worked it out. At least that is what I do when babysitting.

Surprisingly enough, nobody wants me to babysit for them. I don't get it.

If the "situation/argument" doesn't affect me directly, I tell my friends I want no part of it, and don't even listen to the opposing views of the argument.

If I'm part of the argument I won't be neutral. If I'm not... and I have an opinion on the matter I probably say it... but that depends on the matter of course... I don't know, libragirl.

I like your style, Okum - you remind me of a young me, not much younger, mind you, perhaps even a couple years older.
