I don't knwo how it is in your state...but in California I believe you need to request the option of an absentee ballot when you register.

    Damn..you are GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!

Actually, I *DID* use EV as a write-in on a local District position where I can't stand either candidate.

  • I'm voting absentee too since NH is a battleground state and Illinois will easily go to Obama. So far it's been a huge hassle though because my town clerk was claiming I'm not registered. I think it's sorted out now.

Are you sad, like me, that you're not going to get a "I voted" sticker? :(

I have been an ABSENTEE VOTER for a few years now. Like you, I missed my "I VOTED" sticker to wear around proudly............. sooooooooooooooo the last few elections, I completed my ABSENTEE BALLOT ahead of time and didn't mail it. I HAND CARRIED it to my local voting venue on election day and walked right in and informed the nice people there that I had an ABSENTEE BALLOT completed that I would like to drop into the BOX there and collect my "I VOTED" sticker. They smiled at me every time, showed me to the box, I dropped it in and collected my sticker. :)

This is the first time I've voted absentee, because of my working hours it was highly unlikely I would've got to the polls on time.

The only time I've ever gone to the polls was when ol' Ahnold ran for the guhvanatah (and no I didn't vote for him). I've always been absentee every other time. It is too much of a hassle to try to get there since I work and live in two different cities. Plus, I just don't want to deal with the people so I mail it in. I'm all about convenience. I've never gotten a sticker so I guess that's why I don't really care about it.
