the only 'negative'....as a long-standing and frequent DVD returner to get more per month, they do slow down your mailings, and hold back the new releases more. however, in comparison to all else, the are the BEST! especially nowadays, all we have left local is blockbuster, and i hate blockbuster.

i credit netflix for 'educating' many, many americans with exposure, and thus use/definition of the word 'queue.' no one EVEr knew wtf i was talking about if i ever used that word. with netflix, it's all changed....haha/.

<raised hand> I knew what "queue" meant before Netflix.
What can I say? I'm a big fan of polyandry! (There's a new word for you kids.)
This sounds like one of those cheesy commercials !
This is Bob...

Wow
Nicely done...I only knew what Polyamorous meant

I don't think we have had any business try this successfully yet, so Netflix could totally corner a market here if they brought their buisness model up here

I've read WAAAAAAAAAAAY too many books on polygamy...don't get me started.
So, to bring this full circle and back to the thread topic...I rented Big Love on Netflix...GREAT freaking show!!!
I could use another wife
I dont have Netflix
I'm thinking aboot trying it though....not sure I would watch that many movies

What about all the tv shows you wanted to see but never did? Now's your chance! Tv on DVD is the best thing ever.
And, you can try netflix for free if you want.
And yes, television shows on DVD is the only way to go. I love it.
I'm still devastated that my fave TV show of all time is not on DVD
THE WONDER YEARS !

hmm...maybe we ARE related?
hmmmm...i wonder if they are a franchise or how their business model works? food for thought eh.......
it does annoy me that they don't clearly advertise the latest new releases for the week, as they used to do, and also the aforementioned holding back on DVDs, but in comparison to their competition...still head and shoulders above.

lol
I despise advertisements now. Before I could tolerate them, but no longer!
I know...I've become quite spoiled with tv as well. I'm currently watching House, MD thanks to Netflix and dread when I'm all caught up...then I'll have to watch it with commercials on REGULAR tv!
I did that with 24. Very unhealthy habit. It was like a drug. Then I got caught up, and when watching the newest season on television, at the end of a show, I became angry because I had to wait an entire week instead of going to the next episode.
pfft...24 sucks. LOST is where the action is!!
Both are good, but last season of 24 sucked. You are correct that Lost is great! I'm totally hooked to that show. I will even watch it on television and not wait for the DVD to be released.
i've heard/read good things about that show. perhaps we should start renting it too. need some new stuff to watch. we don't watch tv, don't have cable...so yea....DVDs are it for us. hubby and i occasionally watch PBS, but really....that's what makes netflix so great, you can get just about everything now on DVD!
i know for sex and the city...again, i've never had cable...so renting the DVDs is how i watched the show. sure, i was always a season behind, but i didn't care. it is dangerous tho...sit and watch 3 hours straight, simply b/c you can!

I'm completely and utterly obsessed with LOST. I'll admit it. I own it all on dvd.
Topic integrity: It's amazing how many badass documentaries are out there that I never would've known about if it hadn't been for netflix!!
Yeah, House is really good. I'm hooked!! ANNNNNNNNNND...the strange thing is...I find arrogance a complete turn-off...but somehow...mmm.mmm.mmm. That man is SEXY and completely arrogant!
I love the documentaries. I'm a huge jazz fan, and rented a Ken Burns documentary on the history of jazz. Great stuff!
Have you seen the HBO mini series on John Adams? I'm watching that right now. It is quite good.
Hmm..no I have not...but guess what?! I'm going to go add it to my QUEUE right now. (That was for you, d2d!)
Also, I'm SUUUUUUUCH a dork. My roomate saw my queue and that half of my movies were docs...she won't stop making fun of me. I watched a 3 hour doc on the mormon church...fucking fascinating!!
Is this the one??
