they should do away with it.
yea, every year there are injuries...and some of them serious.
but never do i remember reading about so many injuries and serious ones at that. it's crazy, that's all.

You're about about the profit thing. The players certainly don't need 4 games to get ready. One thing I have heard is that the NFL is considering cutting the preseason to 2 games, making the regular season 18 games, and then playing the Super Bowl on the Sunday before Presidents Day, or whatever holiday falls in mid February. Trivia question---anyone know the last team to make it mandatory for season ticket holders to buy preseason games?

2008 ~ Hartford, Mansfied I,

2013 - London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
I don't mind it good warm up and nice taste of football in August.
Beats the heck out ot the CFL.
the CFL style of football is much more exciting football than the NFL, notwithstanding the talent in the NFL

Yeah, but four game is a bit much.
Rather see 2 and the regular season extended.
Lil Wayne is better than Pearl Jam.
Bitches ain't nothin' but hoes 'n tricks
CFL overtime is cool. NFL Sudden death kinda blows.
Yeah but then osi umenyiora would have never gotten injured and sidelined for the season and that would have been ashame.
if that's what needs to be done...then get it done...
no need to have ones season and/or career ended in preseason. less games...less injuries.

less chance of injuries, no way to know if less injuries.....
osi could have been injured 2 minutes into week 1 if preseason ended after 2 games. we'll never know.remember last year that bills player broke his neck in week one, ended his career. and what about all the end of season injuries, should they shorten the regular season too?
thats actually what i meant to say...less chance.
why would you shorten the season? the season means something.

I don't think shortening the preseason will prevent any injuries. The starters still need some game action, so chances are that they would play further into the preseason games if there are only 2.
And would it make people feel better if a star player was hurt in week 1 or 2 of the regular season instead of week 3 of the preseason? Injuries are going to happen regardless.
