Bingo, bango, bongo. You nailed that one. I'm just glad they got it handed to them. No team that loses to Gardner Webb at home deserves to dance. I could be biased, though. I freaking hate Kentucky basketball.
I don't hate the team, but their fanbase is mostly assholes. I hate to see teams like Dayton, So. Ill get shut out for a team like this to make it.
I'm a Saluki and those comedians didn't deserve it, either. Illinois State should've gotten the at-large bid, but San Diego screwed that up by winning the WCC tournament. Of course, S.D. also knocked off UConn, so I guess it all worked out in the end. Georgia winning the SEC didn't help.
You're welcome.
yeah, I meant Ill State.
And please dont tell me Ill St deserved to be there over UK. Ill St played 2 power conference teams all year. They got beat by Indiana, and beat a Cincinatti team that finished 13-18. The other team they played that was good was Drake, who they lost to 3 times. Kentucky had wins over Vandy, Tenn, Arkansas, which are all better wins they Ill st even thought about having.
Dayton was only 8-8 in their own conference, which is a mid major conference. The top 3 teams in their conference, Xavier, Temple, and Umass, they were a combined 0-5. They did have a few nice wins over Pitt and Louisville, but still, if you finish 8-8 in a mid major conference, you dont have much of an argument if you get left out. And they certainly dont have an argument that they should be there over an SEC team that finished 12-4 and had a win over a top 5 team in the country.
you're obviously a SEC fan, so I won't argue with you (I know how you guys can be). But you have to admit, the SEC is WAY down this year talent wise. Other than Tenn, what do you have....and don't bring overrated Vandy into this discussion.
Vandy was the SIU of the SEC: Ballers at home, shitheads on the road.
You wont argue with me because you have no argument. I mean come on, I actually provided reasons for my arguments. Its not like Im just talking trash with nothing to support my reasoning. Do you really think a .500 team out of the Atlantic ten is a tournament team? Or a team whose most high profile win was over a 13-18 Cincinatti team is a tournament team? And yes, the SEC was down a bit, and Vandy was a bit over rated. I certainly agree. The SEC still has 3 teams left in the tournament. Kentucky still took Marquette down to the wire, and UK didnt have their top player obviously. And last night, Marquette took a top 10 team into overtime before getting beat on a last second shot.
And for the record. Yes, I do like Kentucky, but Im actually more of a Louisville fan. ANd Im all for mid majors getting a chance. But you have to earn it. Dayton's win over Louisville was when Padgett wasnt playing. So they beat UL without ULs top player on the floor. Dayton finished 7th, in the A-10. That isnt a tournament team. Even with a couple of nice wins, you still cant finish 7th in a mid major conference and expect to get an invite.
