Fuck me in the goat ass!

And, yeah, neily, every time someone in blue blocked a Chara shot, the entire Garden winced in sympathy.

Damn!!!!! Had to record the game last night cause I had to be up early for work. I stayed away from any sports news all day and just finished watching the game. Unbelievable comeback. I was hoping to come here and only see smiles but then I saw the posts on Cally. Such a shame- it's ruined my buzz a little but regardless it was a great win. Is it definitely a break?
  • Bathgate66Bathgate66 Posts: 15,813
Pretty sure Cally was skaing around in the celebrations post-win,
probably got into lockerroom and undid his skates ,
which is most likely when they discovered the injury.
They then probably took X Rays and discovered the fracture.

    Totally sucks.

Gilroy going to dress as 7th defenseman but play on the wing as needed.

    I dunno bout this.
I mean , I like Gilroy and everything
I know he was the Hobey baker award winner at Boston College and all,
and I vaguely remember a sweet ggoal or two this seasonn,
but I also remember him forgetting that he was a defenseman / or forward
( depending on what role Torts had him filling )
which had him out of proper positioning,
    IMO.

We all know Cally is irreplaceable,
but I wouldve thought that a full out forward would try to fill that vacancy
( such as Zuccarello or Grachev )

I'll keep it classy too, don't worry. The only time I've gotten in a fight here about hockey was with Phantom. . . and ironically it was about the Bruins and Canadiens. We're cool now though, the guy really knows his hockey and that's really all it takes to win me over.

Sorry about Cally. . . however not sorry about taking back our rightful spot in the standings. :D

Let's not forget that Ryan Callahan was sidelined for 19 games from Dec. 16 through Jan. 25.
Yet the Rangers not only survived his absence but played over the .500 mark (10-7-2) in that stretch.

How nervous are you guys over here? I gotta say I'm pretty nervous from where I stand. All I need is to gain one point or for Carolina to lose one point. . . but I've watched my team miss the playoffs by just one point before. . . and I don't want to bring up any bad memories for you either.

I hate the Hurricanes. I really don't want to see them in.

that being said ..i hope it doesn't come down to the devils on sat afternoon :o

Yeah, I really hope it doesn't come down to the BJ's for me either. I know that's a game we should win, but if we don't, I'll have that lingering in my mind for a whole year.

I'm very against hockey teams being located below the Mason-Dixon line. Why Gary Bettman ever thought that Atlanta, Phoenix, Miami, Tampa, Dallas, and Carolina would have successful franchises is beyond me. Atlanta already had a team once and they got moved to Calgary because no one gave a fuck.

I know this doesn't apply to the playoffs right now, but god damn, there are people in Winnipeg and London and Hartford and Halifax and Seattle and even Anchorage that would love to have a hockey team and would be able to support them better than these pathetic southern locations.

    God I hate Carolina.

    Carolinas remaining games:

Carolina @ Atlanta ( I'd go with Carolina here )
    and
Tampa bay @ Carolina ( You'd think Tampa but who knows )

I can forsee this race ending in a tie, possibly in wins and total points,
which doesnt fare well for our Black and Blueshirts, because Carolina won the season series ( the next tie breaker ) , 6 points to 4 points , so we'd be out.

Yeah, and I love how teams that play in the west try to make up excuses about how their conference is so much more difficult than the east. I'd love to play Edmonton and Colorado and Calgary six times a year each.

I knew I was going to hear from you after that post.

I will revert to my go to statement on the matter and say that I see the Eastern Conference as the NFC of the NHL.

Calgary also has played 81 games and we've only played 80, which means we're pretty much even. We'll hopefully make it :silent: and they won't this year. The difference is, Calgary hasn't tried to become a better team in years, they continue to lean completely on Iginla, where the Sabres have taken strides to become a better team. Year after year I'd rather face a team like Calgary than a team like the Senators.

I guess it's splitting hairs, but I think next year you will see the 8th seed in the east with more points than the 8th seed in the west.

My team is 6-0-0 vs. the Northeast division this season. So if you'd like to move to the Central, I'm sure we could work something out.
