this is the greatest tennis match ive ever seen!!!

i cant help but feel that nadal has blown his chance tho, poor man :(

hopefully the slightly wet court will benefit nadal's attacking game and spur him on the win :D

    Go Nadal!

(although im resigned to federer winning AGAIN)

    WOO HOO!!!!!!!! He did it!

no he deserves it to an extent, he is a tank afterwall. But it wasn't 2 guys at their best becuase federer would have one. Like his best good enough to beat federer with errors.

lols sounds so stupid, when i watched federer really did miss hit a lot of shots and he always screwes up smashes, hits them out past the baseline.

i think nadal showed amazing "courage" to come back and win it after blowing his chance in the 4th set when he had two match points. At the end of the day the best man won, and i agree nadal is a tank, ive never seen a forehand quite like it! :D

This match just killed my Sunday. This was beyond amazing. I think it came down to Nadal not making as many mistakes as Federer. How many 2nd serves did he hit into the net? Mistakes though are caused by pressure, which was put on by Nadal. Nadal dethroned Federer for sure.

That was a sick match. I fell asleep at the end of the 3rd set. I woke up and thought Nadal won it in three because I saw some stats on the sports ticker showing how many more errors he had then Nadal. But then I saw that it was going to be on in an hour on ESPN classic as an instant classic

It will go down as one of the best finals of all time.

The funny thing about this tournament was the fact that the main draws, I thought, were boring. But both finals were awesome!

not yet. if he wins the us open he will be.

i was only able to catch the first two sets because i had work all day and i thought nadal was going to take it in straight sets or four. little did i know it would end up being one of the greatest matches of all time. its on espn classic tomorrow night at 7 so im really excited to watch that.

Yeah, I think he'll have to win another big tourney or two to take that position.

This news (Nadal's upset of Federer) is HUGE in the tennis world. Oh, well. I guess The Doggie Thread and What Made Your Day trumps the most spectacular men's singles tennis match EVER.

    Carry on.

Roger sure did make a ton of fucking errors..and what was up with his backhand?? Seemed like every time his backhand ended up in the net..

Anyway, fuck Nadal and his lame ass grunting..thought only chicks do that no? Last year's Wimbledon was better :)..

    Fuck tennis..

Okay seriously, it was a great match, just a shitty outcome ;)..

Fuck me what a nail-biting match... I was utterly exhausted watching it. Am really sad that Federer didn't win, although I like Nadal and it was truly the best game I have ever watched. I'm just sick of all the naysayers writing off Federer this year, it pisses me off... the guy still got to the semis in Australia with mono!

I'm still rooting for Federer to eclipse Sampras!

i think federer benefited most from the rain delays.

Coming back from those leads, what surely seemed insurmountable- this was some exciting TV for a sunday morning- for sur e.
