  • I don't want to go to jail or get fined for this but....Tonight I downloded my first song onto an MP3 player, Sex On Fire, I'm listening to it now on my earphones:) but I dont think I did it right because I didn't pay for it.....:D....so how do you download????? I was really just practicing tonight....

When you subscribe to places like itune, napster or rhapsody and pay per month is it unlimited downloading or do you still have to pay per song

i haven't tried subscribing to anything. i either buy the albums or tunes off of itunes or go to amoeba records...no matter how the technology advances, and it'll end up on my ipod anyway, there's just something about getting an actual cd with the lyrics and artwork and all that yummy stuff :)

this is one of the reasons why its taken me so long to download a song....but they don't really sell too many singles now-a-days so downloading can come in handy......

I would rather have the actual CD in my hands though......

yeah itunes is awesome for singles! it's also good for albums just to save on physical space, but some albums just beg to be bought. if the packaging is kickass (like NIN's year zero), well, i'm a sucker for it :o lol

I just went to itunes...its not free you have to pay to register...I think their fee is yearly though....

do you save any money by doing the subscription though? also i've heard that artists make less money when people buy their music via itunes than an actual CD. so i know for me i like to buy actual CDs for my fave artists (and am a cheapo with the singles for everybody else :o lol)

I don't know this is all new to me...so far it looks like places like napster and rhapsody charge about $12 a month but itunes only charges a comparable annual fee....

I don't even pay a fee for iTunes. I just buy whatever album I want from there. Usually only if I can't find the CD.
