Continental Airlines Stole My Luggage

I checked a bag at the Tampa Airport, when I arrived in Newark, my bag was not there.....I want my stuff:(

    this is why i only bring carry on luggage
    I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.

    Hopefully you had a ball at the show if you went.

    it's happened to me once... i had a connecting flight in chicago and was late getting in... had to rush just to make the flight.. i knew my luggage wasn't going to make it!

    Doesnt the luggage go directly to your destination and NOT to the city / country in which you are connecting through?

    so if i am the only person going to my final destination.. they are going to fly only my luggage there?? that doesn't seem logical.

    So what did they tell you? Are they attempting to trace it? They will owe you some compensation if your bag is really lost.

    and Jane what happened was they put my luggage on the next flight for whatever reason, so I filled out a claim form and it was scheduled to bedelivered to my home by the next morning and it arrived :) all the locks where attatched and everything looked okay inside...luckily I was home, if I was in florida I would have been screwed....

    Good to hear. I'll be at Camden through the Beacon. I'm sure I'll run into you and the rest of the NYC crew at some point. Did Robek03 go with you as well?

    As for the luggage issue, the same thing happened to me 3 weeks ago. I was in Maui for my cousin's wedding (yead, I have a rough life. ;) ) And when I was flying from Maui to Oahu, my bag didn't make it and it was delivered to my hotel when I woke up the next morning.

    locks? they won't ever let me through with locks. did something change since i last traveled? they always make me remove them :(.

    That really sucks...I don't like Newark airport.
    These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

    I guess carry on luggage can't have locks, the ones I checked did....they were standard luggage locks, not a padlock

    That happened to me too- unfortunately, it was on my way to Florida (2 years ago) and they had no idea where my bag was for almost a day. Luckily I had a carry-on with me on the plane with some extra clothes and stuff because of all the stories I had heard about lost luggage at the Philly airport. Glad you got your stuff back though!

    ha! a few years back my sister was on her way to ireland from the land of oz through heathrow(not that im saying they were at fault)... she got to dublin... however her luggage went to canada. needless to say she was not impressed.

    what a chaotic mess this airport seems to be.... its sooo busy. the hotel shuttle area is out of control!

    when I flew from Chigago O'Hare to Dublin last year, they made me take the lock off cos security was going through every single checked on luggage.. thought that was weird.

    Usually I just bring carry on... but if it's for longer than a weekend I put as much as I can into the carry on and the most important stuff. Also, they recommend you take a photo of your bag and all the contents in it before you fly... not a bad idea.

    yeah I hate it...I have to laugh your not supposed to park in front of the terminals but people do it all the time. It's fun when you need to drop someone off. The topper was when I went there one time to to drop someone off and they were telling me to move on, meanwhile there are cars parked w/o people there...but yeah, I dread going there.
