Where would you suggest the placement of a tattoo if it's on a woman and she is VERY lady like? Not a biker or punk rock chick, very reserved.....

I say don't do it. They are a major turn off, IMO.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

im not a biker or a punk chick or a whatever chick.. im just a chick, who is a teacher and I have tattoos here and there. a tattoo does not change who you are. It only puts a little colour in your life. :)

I have a couple tattoos also and I love them.
This is an older woman who is too shy to have a body part exposed to have it done in a place like the butt.
She was thinking her breast but that doesn't seem appropriate for her.
I think this is something she's wanted all her life and is finally doing it.
She works in a professional enviornment and it can't show.
Any other ideas? Thanks for the help, I don't know what to suggest.

ladylike & tattoo don't go together. It doesn't matter where she puts it, she will no longer be "ladylike." IMO
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

In my opinion, I know plenty of 'ladylike' girls with plenty of tattoo's.

I'm just curious actually, what makes you feel they can't be ladylike anymore? I thought this theory stopped a while ago while I was a kid.

and as far as a professional setting? If she has long hair and doesn't plan on cutting it, there's always behind the neck or ear.

On her hip is always a nice spot, or shoulder blades, or inbetween them.

Or on top of the foot if she wears closed shoes to work.

    definition of ladylike:
    Characteristic of a lady; well-bred.
Appropriate for or becoming to a lady.
Unduly sensitive to matters of propriety or decorum.
    Lacking virility or strength.

    See? Nothing about tattoos.
Anyway, it's only my opinion. That's why I said, "IMO"
When I think ladylike, I think of red hat society. Not tattoos.

I told her the upper thigh, pretty much hip area.
She was toying with the breast thing and all I could say was NOOOOO!
I like the idea of between the shoulder blades instead of on one.
People around here call the ones on the lower back a tramp stamp so I was steering her away from that area too. That area to me is for a younger generation, she's a much older woman.

Interesting. I understood that it was your opinion and I respected that, that's why I noted it for myself as well. :) I was just curious.

I've always thought of Ladylike is anything that's befitting to a lady. Which that definition is open ended lady to lady. If it's fitting, and you carry it well, you're ladylike. :)

Hip/thigh and foot/ankle would be good spots, I think.

Yeah if she's just getting one...or it's her first...anything that revolves around it being her only tattoo for a while, I'd stay away from the lower back/breast area. There are many lower back pieces that come out well that aren't tacky...but it usually blends into another piece somehow.

But yes those are good areas.

I'm tattooed all over my back, my right calf and the back of my neck. People say I'm nothing but ladylike! :p

The far more important question is what is the Tattoo and WHO will be doing the work? Most times the art dictates placement. And yes tattoos on awoman are VERY ladylike. Just ask my wife!

Ask your artist for their opinion. And make sure the place is clean, sterilizes the equiptment and so on. Ask a lot of questions , request to see their cleaning stations .

well, I like the ankle, I have one of mine there. but I have also seen the inner ankle with something small and descreet. But if she doesn't want it seen unless she chooses to, then like the lower back area maybe or under the hair if she has long hair. That sounds good.

    what is the tatoo of?

yeah, I agree. I have four and I like them a lot. I think it is just to think about what you are getting and if it is something that you will want in ten years.
