I'm obviously coming quite late to this show, but i've now caught up on series 1 and i've started series 2.

This show proves that the UK are still capable of making good TV. I love this how, the characters are all interesting and it runs a lot deeper than i thought it would.

Michelle and Cassie are lovely :)

Like Sid you will have to chose between them :D

I liked it. Will be interesting to see how series 3 goes with them getting a whole new cast.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Skins makes me angry to be honest.

    :o

It's very patronising, cynical television and clearly made by middle-aged producers and writers who either wish they were still a teenager or wish it was acceptable for them to still act like one, having sex with other teenagers, drugs and all without people, quite rightly, thinking that would be inappropriate.

I kept trying to like it because I knew that I could just look at it like "it's supposed to be this bad and it's so bad it's good" but that was little consolation when I realised I'd lost another hour to a programme where the kid from About A Boy walks about in his boxers in almost every scene and has druggy sex with a slew of obnoxious teenage girls :(

EDIT: In spite of the above, I actually enjoy Hollyoaks so I'm not judging anyone for liking Skins :D I just don't think it redeems itself in the same way as Hollyoaks does (dealing with serious issues/not being so self-consciously "hip")

That's a fair opinion, but i'm definitely not with you when it comes to Hollyoaks. Bad acting, bad writing and it comes across as very melodramatic and weak.

I don't want to have to choose between Michelle and Cassie, they both have likeable qualities!

Oh don't get me wrong, Hollyoaks is terrible, I just find it fun to watch :D Skins, on the other hand, just kind of disgusts me.

Plus, it provided a platform for putting Harry Enfield back on TV which can NEVER be a good thing :o

lol, there have been some weird guest stars for sure. I just finished an episode with Shane Richie in it and he was American!
