the mets fans are satisfied that their rivals lose ,,its like they won something if the others lose
bad way to view things,, ya gotta win 1 bro ....
shit even the sux won a ring lol
the florida marlins have 2 lol

Yes, but since our team can't fucking win anything, we must find pleasure and some sense of satisfaction somehow. I know it's fucked up, but you're right, I kinda felt like I won something last night :)..

but see this is the other side of the mentality you spoke of earlier. Yankee fans feel that it's their God given right to be in the World Series every fucking year. 13 years of consecutive postseason, 6 world series, 4 rings, and yet still not enough? Fire Torre? This is why the Yankees are hated along with their spoiled fans..I'd be happy with one fucking ring in my lifetime..

Why would he get fired? His contract expired. You can't fire someone who isn't under contract.

Wang on 3 days' rest spurs a brass debate

I'm told there was some debate among the Yankee high command about starting Chien-Ming Wang last night. According to team sources, Joe Torre had wanted to start Mike Mussina while the rest of hierarchy, citing Moose's recent postseason flops and his second-half slump this season, were concerned about entrusting him with the season in a do-or-die game.

Torre, on the other hand, had concerns about pitching Wang on three days' rest. Before the game last night, the manager said, Wang's record at home (2.75 ERA, second-best in the AL, 21 wins at Yankee Stadium over the past two seasons) was "what tipped the scales."

As for the short rest, Torre conceded: "With the fact he's a sinkerballer, sometimes being a little tired isn't all that bad."

Ultimately, however, that wasn't the case and Torre got his way, removing Wang for Mussina nine batters into the game, with the bases loaded and nobody out in the second, after it was clear the 19-game winner had nothing. Meanwhile, there was no such debate on the Indians' side about resisting the temptation to "go for the kill" by pitching staff ace C.C. Sabathia on three days' last night instead of junkballing No.4 starter Paul Byrd. According to Tribe manager Eric Wedge, it was never even discussed.

"(Byrd) won 15 games for us and we wouldn't be here without him," Wedge said, adding: "Guys pitching on three days' rest generally don't do that well and he threw five hard innings (in Game 1). I'm not going to put anyone in harm's way."

HEre is a good article from Fox on what hte yankees should do. I don't agree with all of it but for the most part it has some really good ideas

  • I hope all the Yankee fans realize that Roger Clemens is a thief and just stole Steinbrenner's money. He shouldn't have come out of retirement. He looked so bad in Sunday's game is was laughable.

    JOE GIRARDI.
Mattingly would lead to a 80's like slump for few years. They need an agressive manager who will let the young guys lead. If there's any constant with the Yanks losing the past few years its that they had no emotion and heart. Girardi won't stand for that.

Honestly, why would anyone want that job? If you were even considered for it, you would be qualified for any managing job in MLB, so why would you want that? Even if you win the World Series a couple times, they will still kick you to the curb. You have to win EVERY year in order to keep people happy, which isn't realistic. I'd much rather manage in Chicago, Philly, LA or even for the Mets where if you win a title you are praised for it. But having the Boss and the media down your neck after 12 straight playoff seasons it too much.
