Do you write for a newspaper?

Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

not if you're getting paid for it. ;)
the price we all pay for a paycheck; following what the bosses want.

as to writing in first-person, i see plenty of articles written as such, but they usually are editorials, opinion pieces, adivce columns, etc. so i certainly believe there is a time/place for it, but perhaps for the type of writing you do - which admittedly i have no idea what you write - your bosses disagree with it's suitability. such is life...

yeah im usually going the editorial route ... but i wanted to try something different with a profile piece ... anyways i acquiesced and gave up my selfish narrative, even though it was gold. gold i tells ya!

and i said "bosses" in the title of this thread, but I shouldve said "editors" ... i wouldnt call them my bosses.

well as long as you appreciate your work, it's all good. ;)

and hey....don't we all have some people who technically are not our bosses but still call some shots, give directives, etc...and really, we have no choice in the matter? hell, i have one evil chick who has ZERO managerial experience, no idea how to give directives...most definitely NOT my boss, but here and there she acts like she is...and i have to follow through, so yea...such is life. and sure, i wish she'd feckin' leave.....:p
