Carton SUCKS!! I don't think he really knows anything about sports. He is the typical jerkoff NY sports fan. For example, D.Wright strikes out in the first inning, Carton wants to trade him. Wright hits a HR in the 3rd Carton wants him in the HOF. For being such a "die hard" fan he give sup on his teams faster than anyone I know. I don't mind Boomer. He is pretty fair in his opinions. The problem is Mike & Mike on ESPN radio in the morning suck just as bad. All they do is talk to people from ESPN and never disagree with them. Plus it is a non stop commercial. "Let's bring in ESPN Baseball analyst Buster Olney on the Onstar Hotline"...YUCK!!!

As far as Mike & the Mad Dog go I loved the 2 of them together but I can't take Francesa by himself. He is so fucking pompous it is intolerable. I wish Mad Dog the best of luck on Syrius but it looks like I am going to go back to the iPod on the ride hoe because NY radio flat out blows!!!
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

NOT THEIR JOB? they dont host a football or baseball show.

they host SPORTS SHOW ,,,it is their job

Well they kinda did actually..New York is a baseball town. It's what people want to talk about. Football well of course. I'm not really sure what you are going on about? So they should have also spent considerable time talking about ping pong, water polo, gymnastics, cricket, swimming, wresting, boxing etc etc...

Seriously is this making sense? I love boxing and guess what, they hardly talked about it....is it still THEIR JOB?

And they are one of the firsts to start this sports radio talk platform, so who are you to tell them how to do it..lol..

YOUR ARGUMENT IS WEAK ,, yes they should know something about the MAJOR SPORTS

I remember I was listening, maybe at the beginning of this year or was it last? In any case, it was the day after Chris finally met his idol, Bruce Springsteen...after years and years and after concert after concert..He seemed like such a happy little kid as he was describing the moment that took place the day prior backstage at one of Bruce's local gigs. Well, actually Mike had to paint the picture as Chris was still on cloud nine giggling away like some school girl..I dont know if anyone else from here was listening..but I remember..

Personally, I'm sad hearing about this news. You know I don't mind taking shots and vice versa when it's warranted. There is a right and a wrong time to be a prick, even in here. I don't understand exactly what you are looking to accomplish..

ALL IM saying is they weren't that good
they didn't know what they were talking about half of the time and their lack of knowledge about some sports was a joke .. period

and once they put the shows on yes,, u could really tell the little bit they knew was being read off their computers

The quality of their relations with callers deteriorated through the years but their interviews of people like cashman and joe torre and other managers were still good.

I always found it funny that Mike would be talking with a caller while still doodling on the newspaper.

The entire show is emotional so far..but to me, Mike never seemed very genuine, even right now as he speaks..I felt like Dog always let it all hang out, and I appreciated that..Dog will be missed..Mike will be so fucking boring that he'll probably put himself to sleep..

As someone said, 'Mike and the Mad Dog have been the sport soundtrack of the city for nearly 20 years.' Wow, 2 decades man....what a run, but I guess Dog felt it was his time, so he did what he had to do....and not good riddance as someone had sad earlier, but thank you for your heart, passion, and all the memories............and best wishes to the Dog..

I listened between 1 and 2 and it was kinda sad... Mike played the regular "Mike and the Mad Dog" intro jingle and even a tape of Chris' "HELLO EVERYBODY..." Russo was on the phone with him too at about 1:15... It was time to pack it in and it would seem Chris will get huge $$$... Can't blame him...

Love Scotty Ferrall on sirius howard 101 he knows hockey, shit he used to be the thrashers announcer.

I loved Mike and the Mad dog, loyal listener for over 12 years. I always prefered Mad dog but they worked great together. I am bummed but atleast we still got the Schmoozer !!
I will be following Mad dog to sirius with the great Howard Stern.
