ban the r-word? dont these fucks realize that words can only carry as much weight as you let them?!?

    I actually agree with this to some extent- so go ahead, call me a totally over the top way too sensitive PC fuck- trust me, I can take it ;)

    When I'm not sitting around bored and posting in the Pit, I do a hell of a lot of work for the Bridge School.. and I was sort of shocked a few years ago when I heard people start to use "retarded" as an insult. (Maybe I'm naive)

    One of my uncles has a pretty severe case of CP- as does someone else who I love dearly-
    so, yeah, to me- using that work in this context? Little offensive to me.

    There was actually, but it was a few months ago. It hit mainstream news...but it was so early that it lost its momentum.

    If they would have done it now closer to the release and at the peak of marketing, they probably would have gotten a bigger response.

    Again, I couldn't care less. From the previews RDJr looks hilarious, just as Dave Chappelle is fucking hilarious as a white newscaster.

    what's the point in making a big deal out of it? Another word will come into use instead.

    Exactly, I don't see the problem with RDJr's character. It isn't a white actor playing a black guy. It's a white actor playing a white actor playing a black guy and it just find that funny, not offensive.

    I agree that 'retarded' is offensive and I never use it myself, but it's just a movie where FICTIONAL characters are using the word.. they can write whatever they want. Banning the film is ridiculous. There is so much more offensive material that has been shown in movies.

    A lot of people are saying they don't want their kids seeing this kind of language because they will use it themselves.. Well, there's a reason it's rated "R." Doesn't that basically warn that some material could be violent or offensive? Young kids shouldn't be seeing rated R movies anyway.

    oh i dont' really care either, i just thought that would have caused more of a ruckus with everything being so PC. i didn't hear about the bruhaha months ago. oh well lol

    RDJr is a great actor so i figure he'll do a good job!

    I have a brother that many of you would call "retarded" and I fucking hate that fact that this word used as an insult is increasing in popularity.

    However, he probably wouldn't know the word "retard" referred to people like him because he's never been called that in his life.
