Saw it. Damn beaut, with a bit o' luck at the end.
I was pumped to see Kostitsyn split the D and score against Atlanta, but then I saw Nash :p

Yeah that was crazy too. And for such a sweet shootout record this year, in 11 chances the Oilers lost. Great shot Sheldon....
  • and let's not forget about the superb touch outlet pass by Peca to make the goal a possibility.

last night was great, there were four shootouts among the early games and enough good flipping enabled you to see them all.

The best was that the two defenders looked like they were rowing a boat they were sweeping their sticks at the puck so much, and he just danced all around them...

My RDS (french ESPN/TSN) station was back to 'subscription required' last night so I couldn't see my Habs play...but all my other extra channels were working fine....

He was the Oiler's last shooter and wound up for a slapshot and put it right into the pads. I remember him in the shootout last year and he wound up but faked the shot and scored. He should have faked again. Any goalie in their right mind would be bristling for his shot...

yeah, that was a great goal

don't forget Toews goal early in the season vs Colorado, it could still be goal of the year

I wonder what the record is for longest shoot-out ?

the NHL probably doesn't track that stat like it doesn't track other stats for the shoot-out

I would wager that none of these players have had a shoot-out opportunity since.

Is Ville Nieminen still in the NHL ? What the hell happened to him

yea i guess you're right. when a shootout goes on for that long, a circus shot needs to end it.

Fantastic goal. One of the best I've ever seen.

Not to derail the topic, but I'm trying to find some Blues tickets for tomorrow and it's sold out in my price range. Anyone know a good site online to get tickets where they don't totally rape you?
