    When I worked at the law firm, we hardly had any holidays, On days like MLK day, the building would only be about 1/3 of the way full and you just knew that all the other people there were working for other law firms. :mad: It used to piss me off...lol.

    About 4 years ago my company did an assesment of how they could better themselves. Before we did not get teh day after thanksgiving or christmas eve off. Those holidays were added from those meetings.

    I work in the IT Dept (Programmer/Analyst) at a Mail Order Pharmacy

    We're kind of like a Hospital in some respects, we have to be open

    The only Holidays we were officially closed were Thanksgiving,Christmas,New Years

    Any other Holiday they ask hourly peeps for OT if they want it plus Holiday Pay

    i get all bank holidays off,, so hence those 3 are included

    I only get 6 days off:

    New Years Day
    Memorial Day
    4th of July
    Labor Day
    Thanksgiving Day
    Christmas Day

    However it's not all that bad, I do get 5 weeks off paid as well and you don't have to cash out each year. So you can save for three years and have 15 weeks, and in a few years I'll move up to six weeks paid.

    I like having the freedom of choosing my days off better than only getting say 2 weeks and having 12 mandatory holidays off.

    We lost MLK day for the day after Christmas this year. Before working for Nestle, I never got MLK Day off.
