It looks good, but the critics are giving it a mix bag in the reviews.

  • i didnt know you cared. the reviews dont seem to live up to romero classics but its probably still better that 90% of recent zombie movies.

also i did post something about this awhile ago on here, but it was tucked away.

    are u nuts

ROMERO IS ONE OF MY FAVS !!

dawn of the dead is classic old and the remake

    big big fan

screw vedder solo tour this is real news lol
  • well i would have kept you posted. also i think there is a actually remake to cannibal holocaust in the works. alot of people have created what they called sequels but the same guy is actually behind this sequel. dont know if that intersts you.

i didnt care for the dawn of the dead re-make. i agree with romero about the running zombie stuff.
  • Got tickets for this tonight. Should be good. I don't pay attention to the critics for Romero anyways. It's not like they like the genre to begin with.

Looking forward to real zombies and social commentary from the master. I enjoyed the dawn remake, but that fast zombie crap is ridiculous.

[REC] looks a lot better than Diary of the Dead.

You should see the whole thing (The sig that is) it's the funniest thing I've ever seen. Or close to it. Depends on how much you know about online gaming and stuff.

ill try to find the quote or article or whatever it was but he said something like that they didnt understand zombies at all. that the horror was that one zombie is nothing its slow, its stupid and just nothing to really worry about. but a swarm of zombies something. they took what made zombies scary, the numbers and made it meaningless.

and what ive liked about romero's version is the zombies arent really the villians in a sense. they just want to eat and just be. and the humans at first are happy to be and just live but eventually the get all greedy and start to make games out of killing zombies. the zombies kill to survive, like animals. the humans killed cause it was fun.

in the re-make you didnt really have this. the zombies were evil and scary and the humans were the good guys, except for the standard bad-guy, zombie fodder.

Like the dawn of the dead remake. Those zombies were fucking FAST. I wouldn't make it.

And I shouldn't be bring this up but if you want another example, 28 days later. Just in a moving sense, the infected aren't really zombies.

I forgot that Dawn of the Dead actually had running zombies. I love romero, I thik this is going to be a great movie, but Im more afraid of the infected, 28 days later is one of the scariest movies I've seen

The infected from 28 days later are fucking insane! They vomit blood on people trying to turn them for crying out loud! The only thing zombies have on infected is that the Infected can be killed by regular means, they just have superhuman strength, stamina, and speed (By regular means I mean starving, massive wounds, etc.) To kill a zombie it has to be extensive brain damage.

Did you see 28 weeks later? It was pretty good. And they're supposed to be making a sequal to that also.

not sure how to feel about all that. I think it's kinda pretentious to define a fictional character. A lot of people have given their own twists on vampires, werewolves, and various kinds of undead, some with great success...and some like C.H.U.D.....but I mean...they did put his title on the film, so....

I don't think I've delved into the symbolism relayed in the zombie/survivor relationship so much....I think what I like so much is the disaster-flick aspect. constant, grave danger, isolated dread and doom.... That's there in the remake...I really liked the first half hour of it...it faded but still had it's moments IMO.
