New Album v. Tour

There are two common ongoing threads at this site:
1) When is PJ coming out with a new album?
2) When is PJ going on (West Coast) Tour?

I have no doubt that PJ will tour the West Coast in 2008 (probably in the July to September time frame), however, I thought it would be interested to see which events the fans would rather have at this point. The problem now is that since there is an East Coast tour, the fans in that area would probably rather have a new album since they are already getting a tour. So, let's broaden the question.

Which would you rather have:
1) new album, or
2) tour ?

  • I would pick a tour over a new album every single time.

I say tour NOW and then release an new album in 2009 and then tour AGAIN to support the new album.

    Its win/win.

I'd take a tour. The Dead always toured without an album to support so I don't think that PJ needs to release an album just to support it by touring.
    Rock on!

  • The band is one of the best when it comes to touring/playing live. They could tour with or without a new album.

I wanna hear a new album, though. Creativity sparks change and the new songs could take on a funkier feel and urge the members to break out songs that haven't been played in a while, i.e. No Way, Aye Davanita(this will probably never happen but I can hope, cant I?) or Who You Are.
