Bad teeth

Is there nothing more less attractive than a set of bad teeth?
Seeing a good looking girl then seeing that very same girl smile with crooked nasty teeth...instant turn off!

I know a lot of people think the same way. What in our evolution gave us this unconscious attraction to people with nice teeth?
That said, how the hell do Brits get by?

    Apparently the attraction thing is all to do with symmetry, so a set of nice straight teeth would be more attractive than a gnarly mess of crooked ones!

    And yeah I agree it is quite off-putting, even worse is people who have shit between their teeth, or permenant brown stains ewwww! A guy at work always seems to have some nasty shit between his teeth and he's one of these people who spits when he talks - I try to keep my distance!

    My teeth aint too bad at all, and I'm British so :p

    I don't mind crooked teeth as long as they are nice and clean.

    When I was in Miami eralier this year, this american woman made the comment of "Wow your English and have really nice teeth"

    i dated a real pretty girl with the worst teeth in the world ( i should say porked a few times and not dated ;) )

    it was weird whenever she talked

    I remember in high school I thought this girl in study hall was really cute. i would make eye conact with her a few times. I told her friend I wanted to meet her. The next day in study, she smiled at me and she had a brown front tooth!!!! WTF? I blew her off. Well a few years later I saw her in a bar with her girfriends and she got it fixed and she looked hot as hell! I don't know what else she did but man oh man she was hot. She would not talk to me. I blew it like George on Seinfeld with the big nose girl hahahahaha.

    Yeah, in college I knew this girl that was nothing short of "model hot". She had/has a nice smile, has nice upper teeth but her bottom teeth look like she can chew through metal. LOL
    I'd go out with her and it's all I could focus on...well not "all" ;) but when she was talking I couldn't help but look at that snarly mess. Hahahaha

    I used to date (more like hung out and it ended up with sex) a guy who had horrible teeth. Actually, he had all around BAD oral hygeine. BAD. Never brushed. And he smoked. And it was gross.

    Never, ever again. Sometimes love (or nookie as the case may be) really IS blinding. :D

    That is nasty...Im willing to date someone who makes minimum wage but a nasty dirty mouth is a dealbreaker.

    Anyone remember the Simpsons episode where Homer was going to get the cheap braces for Lisa? The dentist showed Lisa "The British Book of Smiles" and scared the crap :eek: out of her!

    obviously, good dental hygiene is a MUST. it is a shame that dental work is so prohibitively expensive and rare to have good insurance coverage.....make is extremely difficult for many to get corrective measures. really bad teeth....especially very yellowed/stained teeth. yikes. i do understand that for some people, it's just how their teeth are. but yes, especially nowadays there ARE some low-cost options for improving the situation.


    thankfully my husband has a beautiful smile. :)

    I never realized teeth were so important until I started thinking about it recently. Yeah, crooked teeth do take away from an otherwise attractive person's appearance. I always took my teeth for granted...but now I guess I'm glad they are straight!
