Wow, I thought I had a sweet setup!!

I go over to a buddy's house tonight, he literally has a "home theatre". The guy has a separate section of his house that is just that...a theatre!

The room is acoustically designed, he has 2 leather recliners with a big ol' leather couch, a 75" HDTV, Blu-ray player, 7.1 Dolby Digital surround with the best speakers you can buy, every gaming counsel out there (PS3, 360, Wii,...).
You name it, he's got it.

I have a 50" Sony SXRD HDTV 1080P, a PS3 (w/Blu-ray player), 5.1 Digital surround (all cool) Oh...and a crappy couch! LOL!!!!

What do you got?

    46"Sharp Aquos(82 Series) 1080P, 5.1 SS, PS3, Xbox360, Pioneer 400k DVD player, Bell HD DVR receiver

Sure I could get 7.1SS but my friends has a 7.1 setup and still tells me that mine sounds better.

just get THX to help you design a room and they'll come and "certify" you. it's a tedious process though cause they even care about the material your walls and even COUCH are made of. and everything is about the "angles." can't even move your speaker 2cm after they place it or else you ruined it. but hey some people think it's worth it.

Well shit, Ms. Money Bags, why don't you just rub your obscene wealth in my face while you're at it... Not all of us can afford 2 cups and a piece of string.

 don't be ridiculous... you can make cups... go through your neighbours recycling bin, find some thin cardboard and make it into cups... for the string... find some old clothes (try bins for this one too) and make the string from that

Ok. The neighbor already told me to stay out of his recycling bins and trash cans, but he has to sleep sometime. I appreciate the assistance, kind lady.

    Hmmm... aren't there other neighbours?

If not, the bins outside shops are a good source of stuff! :)

Here's a fuzzy picture of my setup.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/11827990@N08/2310533177/

I've got a 60 inch 1080p plasma mounted above the fireplace with surround sound (next to a waterfall....cheesy, I know). I have a blu-ray player, XBOX 360, and an awesome media center PC hooked up to it.

For the Media Center PC I use an open source program called Media Portal which has a bad ass 1080p skin...check out interface here:
    http://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Download/Skins/16:9/SpinSafe1080v0.4/

On the Media Center I have over 1.5 Terabytes of media. Over 750 movies, 300 GB of music, 200 GB of TV shows, and 200 GB of concerts (lots of PJ :) )

I don't have a single hard CD or DVD in my house (although I do have lots of records...go figure).

I would love to watch that movie again, dont think I have seen it since I was like 7 maybe. I remember seeing Super Mario 3 for the first time and being blown away.

Yeah, same here...the movie was almost like a free commercial for Super Mario 3...it got me so excited for it.
