Im going to NYC 2 weeks from today to see a day game at Yankee Stadium, flying-in at 9am and flying out at 9pm. What's the best way to get to the stadium from Laguardia? What could I possibly have time to stop and see on the way to the game that starts at 1? Should I buy a ticket to the game before I go? I'd like to see Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge, Ground Zero while Im there. Is that possible? Is there enough time to do all of that? Any help would be great. Thanks. :D

BTW: Im not the biggest Yankees fan in the world, but dear ole Yankee stadium will be torn down and that's a piece of baseball history.

Oh, and I also need a ticket to Chicago Night 2. FRIDAY AUGUST 22ND!!

Yes you should buy a ticket before the game
You will be stuck in traffic at 9am, if your flight gets in on time.

That's the tail end of rush hour if it's during the week.

So say maybe you'd have 3 hrs or so before you get to the game?

Do you just want to see the Bklyn Bridge or go over it? I think you would have time but it will be super hectic.

Times Square is at 42nd St

Bklyn Bridge and Ground Zero are further downtown
if you want to see those things you can do that at the same time. Take the 4 train back uptown to 161st/Yankee Stadium.

    Good luck!

Wow! I thought my 25hr trip was somethin'.

I flew into JFK at 7, was at the Brooklyn Bridge by 9, walked through the Financial District, up to Greenwich Village on to Times Square, then to Strawberry Fields, through Central Park, down to the UN, over to Grand Central and the New York Public Library where my friends finally caught up with me to head over to the pre-party and MSG.

A lot can be done with little time, but I had my route pretty much planned out and walked fast.

    Good Luck!

I'm already planning a return trip as I head to and from Israel a year from September.
Walking can be a real trip

I'm going up there the 15th and 16th to see Ricky Gervais at the Wamu Theater in MSG. I always love day trips to NYC.......spending the day walking around and the night chilling out at the jazz club across from the Dave Letterman studios.

good luck getting a ticket, they're sold out almost every game. the best way to get to the stadium from laguardia is the M60 bus to 125th Street and the Four train, traffic is and will be a disaster.

Use StubHub to find a ticket for the game... Plan out your day before you get to NYC. It's amazing all the things you can squeeze in during a one day trip if you plan it out well. Also, check out http://www.goldstar.com. They offer many discount NYC events. I'd suggest if you're not hell bent on driving over the BB, that you sail under it on one of the boat cruises they offer on the Goldstar site. I went on one of the Yacht Manhattan cruises at Xmas time...it was wonderful. Great view of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, skyline, etc.

    Have fun!

It sickens me (physically, mentally and emotionally) that it happened in the first place.

it's weird but way before 9/11 i used to have dreams of plane crashes..and afterward they just increased. I haven't flown after it happened.
