Lebanese Celebrations

Why are the Lebanese giving the heroes welcome to Samir Kantar who killed 3 Israelis, including a man and his daughter.

I mean, part of me can understand why the Lebanese would celebrate in the steets, hold rallies declaring the prisoner swap was God's and Hezbollah's victory. But how can a society actually tolerate an individual convicted of murder in such a gruesome way? This goes beyond war/conflict between two nations.

"In its exchange with Hezbollah, Israel freed Samir Kantar, a Lebanese militant convicted of killing a father in front of his 4-year-old daughter, and then killing her by crushing her skull with a rifle butt."

Check out all the news articles/opinions on the web. It's a very interesting situation with Israel releasing live convicted criminals/terrorists for the bodies of two kidnapped reserve soldiers from 2006.

    Maybe they should have killed the scum like this and traded their bodies for the bodies of the dead soldiers...seems more fair, no?
    hippiemom = goodness
  • A whole lot of media coverage for those deceased Israeli's

    No mention of deceased US soldiers these days though...not a peep...

    hmm...
    Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
    and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
    over specific principles, goals, and policies.

    My main point is trying to understand how people can celebrate a convicted murderer?
    They're celebrating his and other prisoners' return after being in jail for almost 30 years, thanks to the illegal Israeli occupation.

    also, I asked you a question earlier. do you mind answering it? or do I have to say please?

    The same way some celebrated the capture of Saddam which took place after several thousands of murders....many/most of whom were innocent civilians.

    The same way the Israelis would've celebrated the return of their soldiers (if they were alive)...
