This is a pretty major current event going on right now in Lebanon and unfortunately, many people are suffering.

I am seeing the civil unrest in Lebanon all over the news. I am no expert on the subject, but I think a discussion is in order. I'm interested in hearing everyone's views of the situation as to what is going on, who (if anyone) is to blame and what is the best solution.

Thanks

(btw, if there was a thread already and I missed it, lock this one, thanks)

beautiful place full of highly militant minded individuals. I have a friend who is Arabic. Born and raised in Lebanon. She married an American 12 years ago. She has only been back home once because of the violence there. It just isn't safe to travel. Such a shame. She said when she first moved to the US she had a hard time sleeping because it was too quiet. Her entire life was spent hearing bombs and shooting in the distance at night.

What's happening is a terrible thing. And for once, almost everyone is to blame (yay). I find it pretty incredible that the EU is not capable of moving it's ass and take a joint decision to do something.
