I think there should be a new requirement to become President of the United States

I think if a person cannot string together words to create an effective sentence on their own, then they have no right to become the leader of this country. I'm tired of people going on and on about what a great speech this was, or that was, and the people giving the speech didn't even write it. Delivering a message and creating that message are two totally different specialties. I'd rather have someone who is confident enough in themselves to be able to put their own words on paper and then stand by them, instead of just being the presenter of someone else's work. It's the most idiotic thing. Yes, I realize that most Presidents of the past half century have done this. But that's no excuse. It can be done. Look at Lincoln, the man was raised in a log cabin with a dirt floor, and very little formal education, yet he was one of the most eloquent orators in history, and he didn't need some sap in the back room to pen the Gettysburg Address for him.

Yah and Lincoln educated himself! I was talking with a friend about how articulate Obama is. Nice to see someone whom can actually speak fluently the english language...

Maybe we should ask congress to amend the law of the presidental requirements to include an IQ test.
  • Yep. Lincoln is someone I have studied a great deal. I would give anything to have a President like that again. Even if you don't agree with him totally on everything, you know that what he says is what you get, and there's no bullshit double speak. I think that's really all anyone wants.
