Although they are going to really have to come with some thunder to surpass the performance of 2003. As was already mentioned the weather, the band and the crowd energy was ridiculous that night!!! I drank a third of a bottle of tequila on my way in and couldn't talk for 2 days afterwards due to my exuberance!!! It was also my first poster! And my wife's first PJ show!
;-) I'd still go straight up for the Dusseldorf Poster though... or even throw in a few bucks!
The sound of people hitting the backs of their seats after Baba still gives me goose bumps.
The best PJ show I've ever been too.
agreed. crowd was pogoing= al 40,000 of em. was like a faith healing, even by PJ standards it had high energy. Ive been to some great venues and it was like the crowd was on red bull. best show ever.
Alpine Valley, 03 is easily the best show I've been to. That's taking everything into consideration (like venue, crowd, sound, performance, etc.). I've seen the boys play there three times. Lolla, Ice Bowl, and '03. All of those performances are legendary.
I've seen PJ play all over the states, and in several other countries. But when I think back on my best concert experience ever, I think of Pearl Jam at Alpine in '03.
I'm hoping that this summer they do some hand-picked dates here in the states. Bonaroo would be amazing, but we need two nights at Alpine!
The Betterman sing-a-long was a once in a life-time experience that I'm never going to forget. I don't think it's possible to feel the same as I did that night, ever again, and that's pretty incredible. Maybe I'll feel like that again if they play there this summer...
Sorry Dills, I'm not willing to part with my Official Bootleg of that show. Best of luck finding one, it's well worth the search (or the money).

Great show. Gave me chills being there, but not as many chills as the 2000
Alpine show. You should check that one out also. This one is harder to find,
though.
"WE'RE UH, WE'RE GONNA DO THIS ONE WHICH IS UH, CERTAINLY NOT A USUAL ONE, AND THEN UH, JUST TAKE A FEW MORE MINUTES, THEN UH, AND THEN WE'RE GONNA DO OUR BEST TO KEEP TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS AWAKE FR..." (cheering at intro)...
I love my buddies who never quit keeping the faith!!!
ALPINE VALLEY 2008!
Last night I watched a SRV documentary ("Play Hard and Floor It!")... reminded me immediately of the tag we got at the end of YL at the '03 show. Sweet. God that was a great show.

The girl in front of me was buying it the other day. I'm pretty sure there was
another copy of it for sale in my local record store.

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
I don't need but i want it.we don't need a tour dvd every tour but we want one so it's the same thing and if you don't want a new Iso east troy thread every week then I'll bump this thread until I get it.

A trade for it if you really need the physical copy that bad... this show was fantastic, and I'm not in any hurry to part with a copy of a show I was at but I would listen if you are in need. Thoughts?
about a year and a half ago i lost a lot of my favorite cds, including alpine 2000 and 2003. i created a thread like this and was very blessed that a kind soul from this board gave me an official sealed copy for an extremely good price, probably less than he paid for it. i finally bought the 2000 boot on ebay a few weeks ago. i now only carry burned copies with me. i don't want to lose them again.

The day before I turned 21...the beautiful weather...40,000 fans...being with people that love pj...I just loved it.
Even the ride to Indy to see them the next day was nothing because all we did was talk about that show.
Bump!
