I recently had my class read the Eddie Vedder interview in Rolling Stone magazine. Vedder touches on a variety of topics including: censorship, Iraq, downlaod quality, modified food etc. We took the topics and added depth with supplemental material.

My studetns will respond to this thread, tell you what they learned and request more information.

If you can be of assistance please help. Obviously it would be exciting if we could get even the faintest acknowledgment from the band.

Thank You,

Brad Horstman

Oh boy. You aren't exactly going to get an unbiased opinion on his beliefs here. Too many kool-aid drinkers.

    How original.

  • We read Eddie Vedder Rolling Stone article and then watched a trailer of the movie “Iraq for Sale”. We then learned about no bid contract and cost plus contract. But why do soldiers get charged a lot? they are getting charged $100 for a load of laundary and $45 for a six pack of soda. They should have benefits because they’re risking they’re lives for our country.

They should get everything at a lower price than the prices we get here in the country. Do they even get paid for everything they do at war? My reading class would like to get a cd or movie where you talk about what is going on on Iraq.

    Sincerely

  • My class has been learning about no bid and cost plus contracts. From my understanding no bud contracts eliminate competition. While cost plus contracts encourage companies to spend as much money as possible. Taxpayer’s money is being used for unnecessary things. Our class has seen a clip from “Iraq for sale” watching just a few minutes, it already concerns me. What the hell is going on in Iraq! They are charging 45 dollars for a six pack of soda! That’s crazy that our government can even do that. Not even that, why do you think this is not a huge issue to some people? Should I be concerned about where my moms money is going? When I have to start paying taxes I don’t even want to because the negative things money is going to now.

Most of us in our class has never listened to Pearl jam But if we could get a CD. Any of them with your opinions. We would appreciate it if that would be sent to us. We could have a view on what you think.

you should definitely be concerned.. lots of people in government are living very very well off your mom's money and they will off yours also. I think the best thing we can keep doing today is continuing to encourage third party candidates to keep running for president with ideals that turn their backs to the corporations and face the people with real ideas and a sound foundation.
There are alternatives to any corrupt program, but we have to make the right votes and vote for who we believe would make the best president regardless of what anyone tells you. This is how change happens.. over time.. not over night.

Soldiers get paid very well for what they do. I know several who are in country now, and quite a few who have been. The majority of them, aside for wanting to help their fellow soldiers, do it FOR the money. Don't believe crap movies you watch

Editted because I thought these posts were from the teacher!!!

    Yes kids, soldiers get paid.

    WELL!!!!!

The fact that you even asked if they get paid made me laugh, and wonder just how genuine this malarky thread even is!

it would seem that post was from one of his students ... a little consideration may or may not be reasonable here - unless this thread is a prank
