Why is it that it is usually a liberal that has to identify what group of people someone belongs to and then criticize said person if they don't act the way they are "supposed" to act?

You mean kind of like John McCain getting criticized by conservatives for being too liberal?

You talk about liberals like they are a race of people. Get over it and focus on the issues rather then that "Commy, hippie, liberal said..."

One who divides individuals into categories such as "liberals", is divisive, by dividing and categorizing humans.

Funny b/c you dont seem to be a liberal yet you are the one that just seem to focus on "liberals"
My point is the holier than thou act where people on the left think they are so open minded but then act in an opposite way. It's the hypocrisy that I'm pointing out. Why is it that people never address the subject but attack the messenger on here, anyways?

The hippocracy if from both sides, its the person, that chooses to be a hippocrite. Doesnt matter if they're conservative or liberal. If you'd stop focusing on lables you'd realize that.

Oh, people on the left are usually complete hypocrites! I agree! :)

Just because you are open minded. doesn't mean you have to agree with everything.. if that were the case, there would be no open minded people. Being open minded is about exploring new possibilities.

that's less of a message board issue as it is a standard political issue.

These damn liberals/neocons/commies/pinko's.... is almost always a prelude to a weak argument. Most of the time it should just be ignored. Most people with good points tend to avoid that type of introduction to thier point of view.

Generally that type of argument is intended to preach to the choir. In which case it's pointless pandering.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

I find it hilarious that someone that uses "liberal" like it's a four-letter word would accuse anyone of being divisive. Oddly, how often do these divisive creatures run around and use "conservatives" the same way it's so hip to use "liberals" as boarderline derogatory?

Actually, an awful lot, but I agree with the general view that using labels to derogate people is unproductive.

But... it keeps the political machinery running. If it wasn't for these labels... Cable 'news' networks that are really Cable Op/Ed networks would cease to exist. Politics is synonymous with non-productive.

Yes ... People need soundbytes such as "liberal" or "conservative" to guide their political preferences. Sad but true.

It IS sad. Liberal or Conservative... they are both still Americans. And a divided America will never achive success. Unless America gets over this fabricated war between Liberals and Conservatives... we will lose.

the only reason America will lose is cause those damn liberals don't like war and won't fight for anything ;)
