The talk must stop. We must secure our borders now. A nation without secure borders is no nation at all. It makes no sense to fight terrorists abroad when our own front door is left unlocked. This is my six point plan:

Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.

End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.

Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

"Just because you were born in this country does not make you an American." my qoute, but his view. So what does it take to be an american?

  • What's so crazy about fixing one of our biggest problems? Sure we all know we don't have the resources to actually do anything about it but it's fun to pretend we do. That's what politics are all about. Convincing people that you can fix problems that are essentially hopeless.

  • So?

    What's wrong with that?

anyone care to educate me on exactly why this is crazy?

I could give a flying fuck about illegal immigration. Fear based issue... much more important things going on with our country than illegals doing jobs most wouldnt with the same pay. Sounds like Lou Dobs...

    Crazy?
I think its fucking right on!
You are the crazy one. Say what ever you want now. But if we don't do something like this soon, you will be one of the many many Americans who will suffer in the long run.
I do not know how old you are but at the rate its going, it will be harder and harder for young adults to get their first jobs as kids. Having a job at a young age teaches you a lot of things about real life and those lessons will be gone if illegal immigrants keep pouring into this country and taking all the jobs.

Which job did an illegal take from you? Meat Packing plant line worker? Diswasher Job? Farm worker on a large chemical filled field? Janitor at a local dance club cleaning up puke?

Do you have a list of jobs that these illegals are stealing from the kids of the US?

Working in the thousands of kitchens in resturants for one.
    Landscaping during the summer breaks.
    Factories etc.......
I could go on for days. The job might sound crapy to you but not to the person who is American, that is born in America, and trying to get an honest job in there own country. They should have to compete with a person who should not be here to begin with.

I'm not sure if you are just flat being derrogative towards blue collar American workers, or if you some how naively, but legitimately believe that NO jobs are being "stolen" from US citizens?

The farm industry would be one place to start looking, and the construction industry is another.

Farm jobs are huge though, and there is even dissent at the top of the NFU about the alleged need for illegal immigrant workers. Chiefly, the reason the farm industry is being cut a break by the government and tacitly allowed to hire these illegal workers is that the farmers are CLAIMING that they can't find legal US workers to do the job. One of the spokespeope for the NFU was on CNBC last month and he said flatly that this is untrue, and that IF it WERE true, that the farmers would be calling the union to seek help finding American workers first. That is because it is REQUIRED that they LOOK for US workers first, before seeking foreign workers. HOWEVER, they are FAKING it, NOT looking, and specificaly seeking LOW WAGE working ILLEGAL alien workers!

That is theft of American jobs!
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
