    Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
    and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
    over specific principles, goals, and policies.

    Okay, seriously - can someone please explain to me where this idea comes from that the Republicans are the only or most moral party? Is it all about their attempts to control women and homosexuals? Has no one noticed that they are also bombing innocent people, supporting the death penalty, raping the earth, disregarding their fellow humans who are in need, killing the animals that we're supposed to be looking after, etc., etc.? (Of course these are generalizations. Not every single Republican has wiped out a species of animals.)

    Unless Christians are ONLY concerned with abortion and gay marriage, I truly don't understand the sentiment that voting Republican is the Christian thing to do.

    Core of the Republican strategy. They realize humans have a need to support there realities as fragile as they may be.

    Religion is one of those fragile realities, makes little sense...and people deep down know this...but don't want to deal with having everything they believe in as being a farce. They thus gravitate to those that help them continue this reality.

    Same reason many gravitate to Palin...or even better example is Bush. They want to feel not so dumb so support those that make them feel better about themselves.
