McCain - negative, negative, negative

Where I live, McCain is running almost nothing but negative campaign ads. They like to say Obama and "his liberal allies" want a "massive goverment" that will "spend billions" (no doubt :p) and inflict "painful taxes." Obama's ads are mostly positive about his (admittedly) vague plans.

I have lost all respect for McCain. He has become a Bush-like pawn and sold out on most of his principles in an attempt to get elected. It's like he sold his soul to the devil. Palin was the last straw, for me.

I have found all the talking heads that I see on TV ... the McCain campaign workers, the McCain surrogates, Fox news folk (Hannity, Rove, Morris, O'Reilly) ... all of them speak 10x more on why people should NOT vote for Obama than why they SHOULD vote for McCain ...

Negative adds and negative spin sucks ... but ... it works.

And yet again the GOP runs a better presidential campaign. I, too, am sick of the negative ads. But he's gonna win.

If by "he" you mean McCain, I disagree. I think Palin has backfired, bigtime. And it's sad that Karl Rove has set the gold standard for campaigns.

I'm not so sure about the GOP running a better campaign. I guess the proof comes down to who gets out the vote, but I don't remember a democratic ground game like Obama's before.

Yep, it does work... it keeps people from voting. :(

I would not put any serious amount of money on that prediction. I think we are going to be quite suprised come election day. I think this election is going to bring out people who have never voted before or have not voted for years. People are pissed at the state of this country.. and as much as some people want to bury their head in the sand ~ they are finding that hard to do with the price of gas, the prices at the grocery store.. the fact that extra "fun" money is not there for most Americans ~ these things have woken some people up and they are going to head to that voting booth PISSED and wanting change.

As Clinton said once said, "I feel you pain". I live in Texas where, try as we may, it'll be hard to get Texas for Obama.

As for what you said about Obama, that his plans are "vague", I think you need to look at his website a bit more and take a look at his plan. It's pretty detailed. there's no way he can put a long explanation on a 30 sec commercial. That is why you need to do some research. Attend a speech. Go online and watch some of these speeches in their entirety. Take a look at Bill Clinton's speech just today from Orlando, FL. There were alot of specifics in there. Listen to Obama's speech from WI this morning. His ideas are way better than McCain's. Then, go and watch McCain's speech from this morning and let your reseach be the product of your own conclusion. that's just my opinion. that is what I do and , even though I don't agree with Obama 100%, I do agree on the things that really matter to me.

I'm an Obama supporter ... but he TOTALLY evaded Jim Lehrer's question (as did McCain) ... If we pass this $700B bail out ... Obama will need to cut some of these entitlement programs he is stumping about day in, day out ... which ones will he cut?

No real answer, just a vague stab at delaying the energy initiative ... and still, 5 days later, I'm not convinced he's been able to marry the two issues.

There is no way to say that Obama has a full plan on addressing the economy ... don't get me wrong, I think he's talking about the right things, and wants to accomplish a lot more than McCain does and do it the way I support ... but, there really is no detailed plan.

but that's OK with me. As PJTEXAS says, I should go to the website and bone up. But, you know what? I don't even need to. Given this "choice" of Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin, it's a no-brainer for me......Obama.

and, no, I'm not a totally uninformed voter. I know plenty enough to know who NOT to vote for.

Haven't seen this personally, but if that's true, it's a joke.

The federal government is bigger under Bush than it's ever been. And it's spent trillions.
