"undocumented" arrested...

Wow, it wasn't enough that they have ALREADY broken the law by violating our sovereignty and drained our healthcare and educational systems.... They are NOW pilfering life saving supplies from legitimate (legal) Californians that truly need these items in the wake of these deadly, unforgiving wildfires.... They're just performing the theft that Americans won't perform I guess.... Also, what's up with the PC gymnastics..... They're ILLEGAL ALIENS---not Undocumented Mexican Immigrants.... Let's call them what they are....

San Diego:

Six undocumented Mexican immigrants were arrested today by U.S. Border Patrol agents at Qualcomm Stadium, after a report that they were stealing food and water meant for evacuees, according to spokesman Damon Foreman.

San Diego police responded to a call about alleged theft from the evacuation center and encountered six people in a van who didn't speak English and didn't have California driver's licenses, Foreman said. The police officers called the Border Patrol, who arrived at the stadium and made the arrests, he said. Foreman said the immigrants admitted they were Mexican citizens and that they were stealing.

Border Patrol agents are not looking for illegal immigrants at the center but will continue responding to police calls for assistance.

"We are not in any means at Qualcomm for enforcement capacity," he said. "We are not there to take advantage of a situation."

Foreman said the agents have been helping in the evacuation and rescue effort in addition to carrying out their main duties.

"We are dedicated to our primary mission to securing our borders," he said.

I don't think they eat babies for breakfast, or lunch---maybe dinner... : )
If said Aliens had not been here illegally in the first place, they wouldn't have had to steal these valuable supplies from citizens who have paid for these necessities via taxes. In addition, they would be safe and sound away from the fires if they had honored our laws. That's all I'm sayin...

So if I was a tourist in California who was fleeing the fires but who had not paid taxes to the American government... Am I not entitled to have these supplies?

the issue is legality. If you're a tourist, it's assumed your here legally. If you're an illegal immigrant then you are in a different boat altogether. I know where you're comment is coming from (re: taxes) but if you're a tourist your embassy can help you during natural disasters, emergencies etc...http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/assisting_within_limits.html

i understand the issue raised in the thread.. my point is perhaps they were fleeing the fires, needed supplies but they didn't want to raise awareness to their condition as illegal immigrants or they were just really poor bastards who needed to eat.

in the end stealing is wrong but as a middle class citizen i wouldn't care if some poor dude stole a sandwich from the State of California to eat.. so i would like to know their full background before i comment harshly on them

in this situation I def agree; however, this is an emergency. I think in emergencies, good nature and moral decency take over; however, there is still the underlying issue of responsibility of an individual to respect laws outside of the emergency.

It was a decent movie until that idiotic scene with the wolves... that about ruined it for me.

you see what i dont understand in movies is usually the "hero" goes out with his group of homies to save a loved one.. all the friends die horrific deaths but thats alright cause he manages to save the loved on..

whats even worse in this movie is that his SON WAS OK WITHOUT HIS PRESENCE so the poor son of a bitch who ate the floor of the shopping mall died for no reason yet he was still happy to see his son doing ok.. the more obvious reaction would be to bitch slap his freaking head and say "shit i just killed my friend for no reason"
