that was a question that i had. i believe that he was better last time when he was a mavrick but then the question has to be asked why did he lose last time and not this time?

i am not for either Obama or McCain but i do wonder if McCain is siding with Bush and then when he gets into office he says screw you all. i don't know. but maybe he learned that the american people like to be lied to. what do you all think?

I definitely think that he was better in 2000, but maybe that is because he didn't want to "play ball" do the things that stopped him from getting the nomination in the first place.

I understand the pandering and all that crap that has to be done to win these days, but it just really bothers me how he sucked up to Bush after being treated like he was by the Bush/Rove campaign. They went after him personally (and very dirty), and he then came back acting like they did him a favor or something.

And personally for me, his age is a big hangup this time around. I know everyone ages different, but I just can't get past the fact that he is older than some relatives that I have, that have really declined mentally and physically in the last few years. Like I said, I know that people age differently, and I know some people in their 80's who are still very sharp, but I can't shake the negative thoughts as irrational as that may be.

The reason McCain lost to Bush in 2000 - Karl Rove.

Though Rove denies any wrong doing, after McCain beat Bush in New Hampshire and was doing well in South Carolina the Rove army attacked. McCain was accused of having a drug abusing wife, of being gay, of adopting a black child (he has an adopte daughter from Bangladesh), and of being an informant to the Vietnam army while being a P.O.W. by Rove's hit squad. Needless to say, all of that didn't fly to well in South Carolina. W won and his momentum took off from there as McCain tried to be the nice guy and didn't fight back.

  • Absolutely. Back then he was the real maverick. He was one who constantly reached across the aisle to get things done. He was also 8 years younger. Sorry but as a 28 year old I can't see how ha 72 year old can relate to anything on my level. He should be retired, not going for the biggest job in the world.

What Bush and Rove did was beyond reprehensible, but sadly that was nowhere near the worst thing they've done in the past 8 years. Now it looks like McCain is going down the same path both issue wise and dirty politics.

Ironically, Rove is now an advisor to the McCain campaign. What a joke.
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

so the question now is can you blame him for doing what he is doing. if you want to get things done you have to have the power to do it. i think McCain is a sign of things that are here already and will only get worse.

until the american public accepts hard and bad news you will never have a leader that will make those tough decision.

i don't blame McCain for this, if Rove can make Bush win he can make anyone win. it shows that McCain knows how to play the game.

Really? I hadn't heard that. I thought he was still a "Fox "News" "Specialist"". If that's true then McCain should be ashamed of himself. Nobody has done more damage to American politics then Karl Rove...never mind the fact that this asshole thinks he's above the law and decided to not show up for a subpoena by Congress.

Huh?? What makes you think that? I'm guessing you're not an American.
